I have a coworker with 3 adult children and none of her kids want kids. She expressed her sadness after learning that her youngest didn't want kids but she's since embraced being a dog grandma and stand-in grandma to her neighbor's kids.

Also, there's always fostering. Older kids are always in desperate need of foster families. The love & care you have to give doesn't have to be reserved for your offspring's offspring!

Yeah, it seems like most people who had 5 or more siblings are the first to say it really sucked and stick to two kids themselves or none.
