Trump should have also been barred for seeking the presidency again by vote of the Senate in February 2021. But McConnell and the GOP side basically said, he is out of office and can now be held criminally liable for his actions. But the SCOTUS just removed that, so Trump is no immune because he will be able to argue that ANYTHING he did during his tenure in the White House, was a part of his duties. So staging a coup, taking out political opponents, blackmailing foreign leaders - all immune according to the SCOTUS.

The SCOTUS - any pre-Trump SCOTUS, would have simply affirmed the lower court ruling back in January, THIS court, this corrupted court, has bent over backwards to give Trump a win, undermining centuries of the idea that no man is above the law.
