We all know that men are unreliable, abandon their families, sometimes die, end up disabled, imprisoned
Nothing new under the sun

Women do well, they are resourceful and take over running the household, looking after elderly parents, kids, manage finances and their do ok
Obamas mother was a single parent
Married women end up single

PP's opinion may be based on her experience with the men with whom she has grown up, and that is unfortunate.

I do not know any men like PP describes. The men I know are all stable and reliable, with good incomes. My husband is like this too. I grew up UMC, and that is also my current situation.

If your view of men is that they are all losers, then I recommend leaving that circle of people and trying to get into healthier circles of people. I'm sure it is difficult to do, but high standards are definitely out there. Surround yourself with more disciplined and put-together people, to the greatest extent possible.
