There was a NOVA public lax thread last spring that was great. Hopefully those folks will do it again for spring.
Madison won states and will improve. I think its Madison, Battlefield, Langley and everyone else next spring? Depth is key for publics not sure what's on the bench for those teams. |
For what it is worth, I do not think Madison, Battlefield, Langley, or I think you have to put Patriot, Yorktown, Robinson in the mix have any D1 committed players. Maybe some more will have committed to college by Spring. I also do think Lake Braddock could be in the mix because of the three they have. |
| Madison, Battlefield, Patriot, Lake Braddock and Robinson. |

Will get the NOVA 6A Lax Thread going again this Spring. Think Madison is still the team to beat - they are bringing a lot of guys back. Robinson is loaded again, Lake Braddock should be good and capable of giving Robinson some problems, Yorktown graduated a lot of good players but still has some depth, Langley has most guys back but lost their FOGO, Battlefield has has a bunch of good players coming back, Patriot graduated a ton of good seniors and I suspect they may be down a bit.
Way too early preseason rankings: 1. Madison 2. Robinson 3. Lake Braddock 4. Battlefield 5. Yorktown 6. Langley 7. Patriot 8. Westfield 9. West Potomac 10. Oakton |
Robinson FOGO is a D1 commit and Battlefield attack just committed to a top rated D3 school. Oakton also has a D1 commit on D. |
| Let's see what happens 9/1 |
The only 2024 from the DC area I see making a verbal in early September is the SJC attackman. I'm assuming he is going to play football and lax at either UVA, UNC, or Duke. |
I would expect there to be a couple more than that but agree probably not a ton |
| GZ attack is #14 in 2024 rankings and will have some great options. |
Robinson FOGO now attends Madison. LB will be one of several teams to beat. Madison stacked and defending state champs, and Battlefield will have a D1 committed goalie by the time spring rolls around (imo). Nova public school lax is getting better and better. Great to see. |

Lake Braddock & Robinson were the top NOVA teams in the old days of the WALL. Then Madison, Langley and Oakton made the jump. NOVA public lacrosse has made some huge strides. It’s nice to see
|
who cares couldn’t even beat riverside |
| Yeah but GZ beat the #2 and #5 ranked teams in the final US lax rankings, so there is that to consider. But depends on how miserable you are….. |
| And played SJC as tough as any team last year in the WCAC final game despite losing #14 ranked 2024 early in that game, so there is that consider. But again, not sure how miserable you are. |
Genuinely curious on fogo example above - how does that occur in public school? Family legitimately just moves on their own - or are parents really making housing changes based on public school lacrosse programs (and it’s not like robo wasn’t good to begin with…) |
