The “average Joe” stand to loose the most from climate change. You are the one who is working against the best interests and good health of the common man.

Yea, ask the average Joe if he wants to pay 7 dollars a gallon for gas or fight climate change.

When is Biden got to ban the purchase of Russian oil? He is still funding Russia's war crimes!

The sooner our working class stops depending on mad dictators in the far east, the better it is for us and for the world. I get it, everyone is all about pump baby pump, but even oil produced in the US is still part of global markets and sustains an industry which the far east will always control due to sheer volume. They can keep cutting production and put embargos in place. The sooner we pivot out of it, the better for all of us.

As soon as he can get a deal with Iran or Venezuela.
He won't encourage American companies to pump more. He would prefer to purchase from another totalitarian regime, it seems.
Evidently, cleaner oil doesn't matter because #ClimateChange.

The problem is..... neither the US nor the rest of the world are ready for a hard pivot away from oil.
We still have homes to heat and need fuel for vehicles. They don't run on windmills and solar farms.

Domestic Producers have no plans to invest in domestic capacity, even at these high prices. They know the long term trends - move to electric vehicles, better efficiency in ICE, big leaps in battery tech - make their domestic investments moot in a couple years. It’s not enough time to recover the CapEx.

Further, a huge number federal land leases for drilling are not being used by the industry. They are just sitting on them, doing squat.

Time for Biden to grab the bully pulpit.

Another exporter won't increase oil to the US

Of course they don't thanks to the left's war on oil.
If this administration would change their policies and rhetoric, the pumping would start in earnest.

What pipeline are you referring to, and how does it related to auto fuel?

That is due to intentional misinformation, like in this very thread, that misleads the uneducated. Climate change is real and will destroy entire communities and ways of life. No average person would support that. They just don’t believe that it will happen. They are not choosing climate change action because they have been told to doubt it.

Completely agree - this is the difficult transition that has long been predicted in the move to more renewable sources. It’s going to take time. Producers still have not recovered from the demand collapse in April 2020 due to COVID.

At the same time, the fossil fuel industry is lying about the need for more O&G leases on federal land and the impact of the pipeline. None of that sh#t matters when they are already sitting on a ton of leases that they are not using. They are liars who are enjoying the high prices.

There is no war on oil when the vast majority of people rely on it for energy. Oil is still the dominant incumbent. To pretend that the fossil fuel industry is a “victim” is just laughable. The industry has a complete strangle hold one major political party and a significant chunk of the other.

The real war is the one between oil & new technology. No incumbent has ever defeated technological progress.

Right now, there is a concerted effort to raise oil prices - by the industry & OPEC - to affect American politics and manipulate voter sentiment.
