$7/gallon gas is coming

WTI just opened at $126/barrel... may get $7 gas by St Patty's day.

Natural gas has virtually nothing to do with gasoline!

Ironically Trump has a lot more to do with the hike in gasoline prices than Biden does:

I know Michael. He's a desperate narcissist who'll say anything to ensure he keeps seeing his name in the papers. He frequently opines (loudly and with great confidence) on topics he knows little about and he is pathologically incapable of hearing any facts that don't fit the narrative that gets him the most press. He is occasionally insightful, but only in the way that a broken clock is right twice a day.

Ask many, many, many questions before you trust anything this man says. There are far more truly knowledgeable people out there.

Gas could be $40 per gallon and there will still be gridlock traffic everywhere.

And, yet, his citations and quotations are all totally accurate.

It is not what HE says. It is what others have said and done in the recent past.

When you are unable to counter the content, you attack the messenger. Typical.

Nope. I have years of experience with this guy. And it's often what he's not telling you that makes his conclusions wrong. So his citations may seem correct, but only to someone who isn't a expert in the topic and knows better.

Like, he tried to lecture educators about education reform but didn't even know what title I was.

I've no dog in the fight over energy prices. I honestly don't know enough about the topic to speak on it. (Something you'd never hear Michael say!) My point is that I know enough about what a lazy thinker this guy is to know that if he says something, I should check it with a more reliable source.

If you want to believe him, that's on you.

We should import oil from whomever we can until we get our factories and refineries up to production. Then once to do that become the biggest exporter and ban all imports of oil from overseas. Bidens terrible energy policies and his failure to have any sort of foreign diplomacy strategy has killed the American economy more than it already was under his watch

Do energy companies, who made huge profits in 2021, bear any responsibility in this issue? Just curious what your thoughts are on their role.

The fact that they made such massive profits exposes the lie. They are profiteering. The private sector has vastly more to do with the spike in gas prices than anything Biden is doing.

It always comes down to government meddling. In a mostly-free market, producers can't just charge whatever they want. They are subject to changes in consumer demand as well as competition. The only time that producers can charge a premium above fair market price is if there is some abnormal increase in demand or restriction in supply. Joe Biden's policies have severely disrupted the domestic supply of energy to the extent that there are no good/quick domestic options to make up for the shortfall, and thus prices rise.

Given that gas prices are driven by futures prices, Joe Biden can cause an immediate adjustment in crude oil prices by greenlighting pipeline projects or resuming the leasing of government land for oil exploration. These supply assurances will cause crude futures to drop, translating to a direct decrease in gasoline prices at the pump.

The question is not how to lower gasoline prices, but whether Biden has the balls to do it, knowing that the progressive wing of the Democratic party will tar/feather him if he goes through with this.

U.S. production is already rising.

Joe Biden isn’t the working class champion after all.

Biden loves tree huggers and climate change nuts more than the average Joe. He’s proven that, whether you agree or not. He’s in the bag for those PACs.
