Guess you have no idea it was Queen Elizabeth who ushered in Brexit in the first place when she prorogued Parliament (only the monarch has the power to do so). They don't like talking about that...I wonder why. |
That's squarely on Boris Johnson. |
Who doesn't have the power to prorogue Parliament. Neither does the President of the United States vis-a-vis Congress or Biden would have done it already just to get rid of Manchin's recalcitrant behind. Benefits of a written Constitution.

NP. Agree with this. It’s not like I spend so much time thinking about this royal family thing but this Camilla news just rubbed me the wrong way. She’s not very likable and it’s hard to overcome her history with this family. |
The queen was never going to override brexit. |
No, it’s a poll of the British public which the tweet explicitly spells out for you. Your reading comprehension needs work. |
As does yours. Prove that the people are upset about the Queen's recent announcements. Polls from last year, several months ago, don't make your point. |
DP. You're a fool. You really think because it hit New Years 2022 suddenly people's hatred of that woman which has lasted decades suddenly evaporated? |
| Charles wants to be her tampon. That makes her the c^^t, no? |
Moron, if the people are so upset about this it should be early to prove. Show me a single shred of evidence that the British give two effs about this announcement that Camilla will be Queen Consort. Just one. The only people who give a shit are the die hard Diana fanatics. Every day regular people do. not. care. |
Because you just don't want to believe you might be wrong here's a recent poll for you that show you how quickly the tide has turned. People don't "hate" Camilla as much as you think they do. Wonder what changed? People are moving on. https://www.express.co.uk/news/royal/1562234/camilla-news-duchess-of-cornwall-queen-title-queen-elizabeth-ii-statement-poll-results "There’s a suggestion that the Queen’s intervention might have shifted opinion as the poll found out of 8453 responses, 51 percent (4348) backed the Queen’s wishes for Camilla to become Queen Consort during Charles's reign." "Daily Express’s royal correspondent Richard Palmer commented on the findings, noting that in previous surveys of print and online readers of the publication “have found overwhelming opposition to Camilla becoming Queen”. |

My opinion is that having an affair with a married man, much less one with children is despicable. I think having an affair when you are married and breaking your vows shows an utter lack of honor. I think a mother putting her selfish desires over her children’s happiness and security is unconscionable. I don’t think anybody who behaves thusly should be granted a position of honor.
However, it is really none of my business. William and Harry, who were impacted seem to have established a relationship with her. If they can forgive her, and wish for her to be acknowledged in this matter, I think their wishes should be respected. Moreover, the British monarch, as I understand it is largely a ceremonial position and the consort has even less power. Finally, I think as foul as Charles and Camilla behaved in their previous marriages, compared to historical precedents set by earlier heads of state (both British and international), their transgressions pale in significance. I do find it bizarre that the marriage between Charles and Camilla could have been problematic because of their histories of divorce and the future role of Charles as the head of the Church of England when the Church of England was essentially established to allow Henry VIII to divorce and remarry. |
| If the Queen, William and Harry like Camilla, and want her to be Queen, then what do I care. You cannot hate your whole life. People need to forgive. Camilla did not kill Diana. |
| Camilla triggers people because the mistress won and the poor wronged spouse ended up dying young. There is a sense of injustice about the whole situation and Camilla does always look like the proverbial cat who got the cream. |
Diana had married lovers so do you feel the same about her? |
