If you haven't checked recently, Walgreens seemed to have just opened up a bunch of appts in MoCo

MoCo is inept.

Come see us in Georgia. Some pediatrician's offices are turning people away outside of the metro Atlanta area because the pediatrician's office says there is not enough evidence of safety of the vaccine in kids.

Whoever wants a shot in Atlanta can find one pretty easily.

Just called the Walgreens I have an appointment at and they do not have it!! But I have no email cancellation. So if you have a Walgreens appointment call to confirm.

Walgreens is not starting this age group until Saturday. Was your appt today?

Yes I had a confirmed appointment for today

All Walgreens are starting Saturday.

Yes but that wasn’t know yesterday when I made the appointment, which the system allowed me to do.

You should be able to. Call to confirm. I'm also in MoCo and going to VA. Or post on here and someone may tell you.

No one should have to drive 45 minutes....you can do better than this. What's your zip, we'll help you.

+1. You have a lot of obsessed crazy parents on this thread. Let us help you.

45 min away was the only place I could get an evening appointment. It's hard for me to take time off next week.

Did you check the Tyson's clinic when they opened that up? Open until 7:35.

I clicked on this link. All of the Pfizer appointments cite 12+. I'm not seeing anything for kids younger than that being made available.

PP above here - my bad; I scrolled down a bit and found appointments for 5-11 starting 11/10. Signed up for 11/13; I can wait 3 days and avoid driving to Tysons on a weeknight. I keep checking my Pediatrician's website but they don't have the supply yet. If anything changes within the next week, can always switch if I wish (DH wanted to take DC to Peds instead of mass vax site). I just want to get it done before the holidays and before a medical procedure at the end of December that DC will be having.

City of Alexandria just opened another clinic for tonight at Nova CC campus in Alex. They had a few for later in the week which filled up yesterday and must have just posted this one tonight. >150 appointments available as of right now...

Sorry, here is the link to the list of clinics. I now see there are 3 new ones for 5-11 tonight, tomorrow and Saturday:

Yes, I think this is it. They want to go to their nearest pharmacy of choice and get it done before their friends. They don't want to wait in line at a walk-in clinic or drive more than 5 minutes down the road. The frustration last year at the adult roll out was legit, but this is just hand wringing for the sake of hand wringing.

There are currently about a thousand (A THOUSAND) daytime slots on Tuesday at Fairfax Co Government Center. That's open to anyone, not just Fairfax residents. If you care THAT much, pull your kid out of school and take them on Tuesday. Or take them to Baltimore if that's easier. There are options.

Uh, no. I have no idea what my kids' friends are doing and frankly don't care. We just want as much protection as possible before our Thanksgiving travel.

So what's holding you back? Go to a DC walk-up clinic tomorrow or next week (or one of the Fairfax sites) and you can have the first one done 2-2.5 weeks before Thanksgiving.

Nothing. Found an appointment for later today.

I think some of us with high risk kids are panicking. However, now that I learned that we can go into DC or MD and it's fine I will just do that. Thanks other posters!

Anyone from Maryland get a shot with the Department of Health in Virginia yet? Like Tysons etc.? Are they letting you? I work in VA if that matters but my kid doesn't.
