Political Discussion
There was quite a bit of outrage about Syria and about Yemen. You may remember that the bill to stop funding the Yemen war was killed in Congress, wasn't it? |

Hamas 2IC successfully neutralized last night in Lebanon while under the protection of Hezbollah. This demonstrates Hamas can’t hide from IDF, Shin Bet, and the Mossad; it further shows the impotence and incompetence of Hamas’ allies.
Iran also appears to be fraying at the seams as shown by the Iranians turning on each other and detonating bombs outside of Soleimani’s tomb killing up to a hundred. |
And Saudis and Qataris are just waiting for all these idiots to implode so that they can finally have diplomatic ties with Israel. The support for the Palestinian cause in the ME is dwindling, they have squandered too much good will. |
He mean outrage among the people who make up the pro Palestinian protesters today. |
It wouldn’t be a surprise if Qatar covertly works with Israel and allows the elimination of Haniyeh and his associates living in Doha followed of course by dumping his remains in the ocean like was done with bin Laden and his family. |
And yet they keep killing - intifada intifada, then cry victim when they get the war they demanded. |
“They”? Do you think all Palestinians are to blame? Such a lack of compassion. My understanding from reading history is that Zionists were the original provocateurs. Palestinians responded. Violence escalated with each and every back and forth. Vastly more Palestinians have died (and kidnapped, ie held without charges) than Israeli over the years. The suffering that the escalation has now reached is terrible. And has just created a new generation of people who hate Israel. I hope the US begins to link support to Israel to changes in how they treat Palestinians. I believe this will happen in the next 20-30 years. |
It doesn’t matter what you want to think or what thoughts give you comfort. The truth is, the Palestinians start conflicts, the people they started conflicts with fight back, the Palestinians can't match the fighting, then cry victim. If you want to think, think about this, after all these years of fighting, why do the Palestinians have NOTHING they want? No accomplishments? |
Why? Israel offers nothing. Really why do you thing countries are lining up to have diplomatic ties with Israel? |
Lol. Qatar that didn’t allow Israeli media at the World Cup is going to side with Israel and didn’t care to be pro LGBT to satisfy Israel and the West? Qatar needs Palestinians more than they need Israel . Palestinians are the doctors and professors in Qatar. They need Arabic speaking professionals because Qatar is a tiny but wealthy country of oil guys. The Indo or Pakistani Muslim expats can’t speak Arabic. Though most Qatari males speak English, some of the women particularly older women didnt go to college so they only speak Arabic. They need doctors that speak Arabic for their mothers and grandmothers. If you haven’t been to Qatar, of course you would think they would turn on Palestinians but I’m here to tell you Palestinians are useful in the Gulf . The Gulf kids are lazy and party in Europe and don’t go to school seriously just for filler degrees or to study business. Palestinians , unfortunately some including Hamas, are over represented in STEM (doctors, engineers, pharmacists). Many are intermarried with Palestinians as well. Unless Qatar can trust Israeli doctors and engineers, they aren’t going to turn on Palestinians because they need them. |
It’s rather surprising the majority of pro-Palestinian protests have been in the West. Besides some initial outrage from the Arab “street” months ago (with the mandatory US and Israeli flag burning and death to America chants), any support for Gaza and Hamas has indeed evaporated from the Arab countries. No one cares. |
Right. Qatar is still wealthy and thriving and Saudi Arabia is still wealthy and thriving. Saudi Arabia is increasingly turning against Biden toward Russia and China and just joined BRICS. Unless oil becomes obsolete , They are still in the game and even so both countries have literally bribed their way into sports and tourism so even oil isn’t their sole lifeline anymore. They aren’t breathlessly dying for diplomacy with Israel. Not at the expense of Gazans at least. |
This is a really dumb take. The protests in Western countries are because Western countries namely the U.S. fund the weapons used in Gaza and ones in Europe that supposedly support freedom have banned Palestinian flags? Why would they protest in Syria or Morocco or Egypt if the public and government have nothing to do with funding the war? |
You are arguing against something that wasn’t said. The Qataris will turn on Haniyeh and Hamas, not the Palestinians. After all, we are told over and over that Hamas doesn’t represent the Palestinians, right? |
The people in ME countries don’t care. |
