Workers must unite and rebel against this open office phenomena. It is so bad for so many people (concentration, allergies, lack of privacy) etc.

Same... Had my own office as an intern. Next two jobs, I had my own office (earning 80K). Then... moved to cubicles. I am now making $128K and am in the smallest cube yet, with no windows. I sense that "hotelling" may even be in my future.

Seriously? It's really not that hard to focus once you learn to tune out the "white noise".

Before the recession, I made $88k and had my own office (with a door and a window!). Now, I try to find a space on one of the big tables when I get to the office. Sometimes I just find a chair near a wall and get out my laptop.

Wow I had no idea they were so rare. I've always had a window, but I've worked for state and local government in 50s and 60s built brutalist buildings. I'm surrounded by asbestos, but have a window.

80k, private office without a window.
