I'm not the poster you quote here but when companies sponsor H1B employees they must post notice, along with salary, in a public place in the office. So everyone knows. Also, company cannot pay the H1b worker a salary that is less than the prevailing wage as set by the DOL, based on education and experience required for that particular job. That's to prevent companies from exploiting foreign workers and paying them less. |

$110k cube with a window.
H makes $100k and sits in an open concept group office with 7 people. |
Capital one? |
| At my federal office, folks are now required to office share or desk share. If they do this, they are allowed to telework up to three days a week. Only supervisors are guaranteed their own office. |
Sounds like a worthwhile tradeoff. |
| 78k and in a cube. My manager is also in a cube, but he can see a window..... |
| 80,000 interior office |
| Part-time, $52K, large office with a wall of windows. |
| 60k, nicely sized corner office with a window. go figure. |
Industry/company? Just curious.
|
| Started off making 42k with a window office that was 15x15. Now I make 80k and sit in a cube. Joy. |
| I sit in a cube. I don't care about the privacy b/c my company has "phone booths" where you can make private calls. The noise of other people is horribly, horribly distracting to me as I have ADD. But everyone has cubes, and nothing can be done. |
| $110 and an office with window. I've always had one even when I started (i did share for 5 years though). I'm very very lucky, my counterparts at other companies all have cubes. |
Independent contributor here -- those of us in cubicles also have telework arrangements. |
Some people don't like it because they would prefer not to work from home that frequently. (What they would really like is to be able to work from home a couple days a week AND have their own office). |
