Those girls are just as good if not better than what the DMV produces. Capital’s equal playing time is very attractive to someone that may only play a quarter or less currently.

Well, does anyone know if any showed up?

Be happy those players aren’t showing up as they’d all take spots away from your DD. The average Pride and Stars parents are celebrating this morning.

Other way around bro … be happy the best of Pride isn’t competing for Md teams or you’d be sweating thru your HUK shirts.

Maybe you should look a little closer at the Maryland practice fields over the past month

The 1/3 DBG may be on to something about stats but it’s for the top DMV players landing on MD teams. Worst kept secret.

I can’t make sense of this. Are top DMV players showing up at MD practices or not?

Yes

Even a DMV insider might struggle to put together a list of "top" players from the various DMV teams, so I am a bit skeptical of reports of top DMV players at MD practices. I suppose their could be some hedging of bets going on by certain players who are unsure of their standing with Capital. Over/under on a "top" player from a DMV team picking an MD team over Capital is 0.5.

I guess their could be less. Or maybe their could be more? Is their anyone who knows the answer?

I suppose I deserve that response. Thanks for pointing it out.

With all the top clubs having tryouts on the same week and days ,how to players and clubs handle that? Clubs must do that because they know some girls will attend multiple tryouts? I wonder how they hand out invites with a multi day try-out?

This group of parents all think that their daughter will be playing for UNC or Northwestern in 5 years. They are the worst of sports parents - entitled, unrealistic and overbearing. Good luck to the poor soul who has to deal with this group for the next 3 years. I also feel sorry for the recruiting director who will be asked over and over in a few years "why isn't my daughter getting recruited by UNC, Northwestern or BC?"

Latest rankings have been updated. Congratulations to the Capital 25 Blue and Orange teams for a great run.

While I think some of us probably believe we could actually put together a good list--I would agree that there is some hedging of bets and a few hoping to fill a niche. I would say that is the right over under for players who make Blue.

I think there and lots of very good players on the area teams, but picking the “top” ones would be difficult for me and I have watched many of these girls play for years. Capital will have to make the same assessment after a 4 hour tryout. This is why most people are so uncertain of what comes next. There are more than enough very good players to fill the top team, so some are not going to make it. Hedging bets is a good idea for pretty much everyone.

Between the multiple tryout clinics, private lessons and healthy ballers clc has a pretty good idea who the strong players are going into tryouts. The reality is they have a good idea on 70-80% of who they want on clc b.

And they make a $hit ton of money off of all of it. Stop the insanity. No MD clubs do this. Not trying to say they are superior, just trying to help fellow parents out to push back against this nonsense.

While everyone argues about who is a top player, MD clubs continue to see players from DMV teams at practices. Pretty big assumption that these players will get to “pick” which team they go too. Carry on.

What MD clubs are seeing these girls? Give specifics or did not happen.

are you saying this from this thread? if so you are delusional...the internet (especially on an anonymous board) is not real life

I’m also confused on this. If Pride, STJ and YJS contribute players to CLC, it should be a good team.

I guess the outstanding question is whether the Pride girls would leave a highly ranked team.

It’s also likely that BLC, YJMA and others contribute at least a player or two.

I’m late to the convo so maybe I missed this if it’s already been discussed.

I’d like to hire the Pride parent who convinced tournament officials that 2-0-2 is a better record than 3-1-0. With those rhetorical skills, we could argue our way to a National Championship!

Amen. Get this magician on retainer asap.

Technically M&D DC. Which is looking more and more like it may work.

Except the rules of the tournament dictated the result.

Its fun to bash Pride families but the tournament rules are the tournament rules. Take it up with organizers or have your team do better. In the same situation would you decline to play the game? This conversation is so dumb.

Not nearly as dumb as the thousands of comments debating whether Pride or Stars will have more girls on Capital and who will be the coach.
