Even a DMV insider might struggle to put together a list of "top" players from the various DMV teams, so I am a bit skeptical of reports of top DMV players at MD practices. I suppose their could be some hedging of bets going on by certain players who are unsure of their standing with Capital. Over/under on a "top" player from a DMV team picking an MD team over Capital is 0.5. |
| If you can’t make Capital, you’re not making one of the top Maryland clubs?!?? |
The only reason I think Capital might actually be harder is due to the sheer number of kids that tryout. With all those kids it is much easier to get lost in the crowd if you have a so-so tryout. My experience with MD clubs is that the tryouts, especially at this age, are much smaller or by invite only. |
Can we get all these lines together in one post/place? |
Would be great to have another solid lax option for HS girls in the area. |
While I think some of us probably believe we could actually put together a good list--I would agree that there is some hedging of bets and a few hoping to fill a niche. I would say that is the right over under for players who make Blue. |
I am sure Capital is well aware of some of the bad parents out there and am glad they won’t tolerate them. It’s bad for the team to have to witness the antics on and off the sidelines and utterly sad to see how some parents treat their children after games. |
I think there and lots of very good players on the area teams, but picking the “top” ones would be difficult for me and I have watched many of these girls play for years. Capital will have to make the same assessment after a 4 hour tryout. This is why most people are so uncertain of what comes next. There are more than enough very good players to fill the top team, so some are not going to make it. Hedging bets is a good idea for pretty much everyone. |
There isn’t enough talent to fill two top tier teams. |
They tried that it’s called pride high school. All the girls who got recruited to high caliber schools, went out and did it themselves. They’ve tried for 4 to 5 years now to get a good recruiter in there. |
| Looks like next level, just added a great recruiter |
Between the multiple tryout clinics, private lessons and healthy ballers clc has a pretty good idea who the strong players are going into tryouts. The reality is they have a good idea on 70-80% of who they want on clc b. |
I guess their could be less. Or maybe their could be more? Is their anyone who knows the answer? |
