I’m also confused on this. If Pride, STJ and YJS contribute players to CLC, it should be a good team.

I guess the outstanding question is whether the Pride girls would leave a highly ranked team.

It’s also likely that BLC, YJMA and others contribute at least a player or two.

I’d like to hire the Pride parent who convinced tournament officials that 2-0-2 is a better record than 3-1-0. With those rhetorical skills, we could argue our way to a National Championship!

I think people may be confusing what the rules required, and what the Team Snap application showed at various times. Seems to me the most likely explanation is the application had the wrong settings and they corrected it once they figured it out. That the tournament directors would change the rules for Pride in the middle of a tournament is hard for me to even imagine.

I think there and lots of very good players on the area teams, but picking the “top” ones would be difficult for me and I have watched many of these girls play for years. Capital will have to make the same assessment after a 4 hour tryout. This is why most people are so uncertain of what comes next. There are more than enough very good players to fill the top team, so some are not going to make it. Hedging bets is a good idea for pretty much everyone.

Between the multiple tryout clinics, private lessons and healthy ballers clc has a pretty good idea who the strong players are going into tryouts. The reality is they have a good idea on 70-80% of who they want on clc b.

Capital knows most of the players who will make the Blue team long before the tryout. Maybe 4-5 spots are open for players who standout at the tryout. If you are not aware of the system and working it the odds are long.

While everyone argues about who is a top player, MD clubs continue to see players from DMV teams at practices. Pretty big assumption that these players will get to “pick” which team they go too. Carry on.

Sorry, did not mean to cause trouble. There is, as you say, a difference in goal differential between 3-1 and 2-0-2, which would impact rating and could impact ranking. One goal less for Hero's, for example, would have made them #3 instead of #2. Good day!
