Neighbors walk around nude all the time

Anonymous
We recently bought a house in a close-in neighborhood with very small lots. Love the neighborhood, but I have one fairly large complaint. Our neighbors are ALWAYS walking around their house buck-naked. They leave their blinds open, so that means that we have to keep our blinds closed (we have two young children). We have only met our neighbors a few times (when they were outside, and clothed). We're getting sick of leaving our blinds closed all the time. Is it reasonable for us to ask our neighbors to wear clothes? If so, how would you go about approaching this issue?

Oh my....no advice but this is funny. But it wouldn't be funny to me if I were in your shoes. I hope someone has some good words of advice.

How many times are you guys in the same line of sight? In all honesty, I would just keep my blinds open and avert my eyes, realign furniture in a way that I wasn't staring at them. While I personally would not do what they are doing, I don't see the big deal about other people's naked bodies.

OP here. Our houses are very close together (just separated by narrow driveway), and our houses are the same model so all of the windows are lined up. I'm personally not offended by it, but I am concerned about my rather young children constantly being exposed to it. If we didn't have kids, it wouldn't be an issue for us.

Are they attractive?

Just let it go. Some people are nudists. It's okay for kids to learn that. Being a nudist is (generally) not sexual.

I live in a tiny one-bedroom apartment in a building with drug dealers and roaches, and would be HAPPY to switch homes with you. My window looks out at a brick wall. You can't see anyone at all. I can be packed by tomorrow morning. You in?

I guess it depends on your kids' personalities. My kids have always had the nature of "if no one makes a big deal out of something, I won't either". So if we didn't make a big deal out of the naked neighbors, they wouldn't. Our kids know about body parts, they know some people have different lifestyles, I don't know. I guess I'm just not seeing what kind of damage this could do to your kids.

Not even in the realm of attractive.

Maybe they don't realize it?

I know a couple like this too. Are you in Bethesda?

You can't be serious when you say "can we ask them to wear clothes inside their house"

Um, just let them know that you can see inside their house. They might not realize it. My DH is convinced that people can't see inside our house during the day because of the sun. He is wrong, and your neighbors might be too.

I swear nudists never are. Ever seen a nude beach? Not one attractive person there.
