I just pulled up the cookbook on Amazon and did the look inside. Read and read and read. Till I finally got to the first recipe on page 29.

Could that be a trend now in cookbooks? Because I bought a keto cookbook and the first HALF of the book is her explaining how to succeed at the keto lifestyle. I found it a little off-putting.

Gosh is even her cookbook going to be exhausting, a la Pioneer Woman?

OP on the pg 29 first recipe above. This is more about Jen being cute and and her cute stories and thinking she’s cute with her cute stories and people buying the cookbooks and being mesmerized about how cute she is and she has 5 kids and her 26 year old marriage fell apart and hey, y’all, here’s my recipe for (fill in the blank).

I too love to cook and make up and throw in spices and herbs randomly. I also have a LOT of cookbooks. But when I go for a cookbook, I want a COOKbook. Not about when you you had a bunch of people and you threw together some chicken and dumplings and all your bffs raving about your cheeseball appetizer (disclaimer-no idea if these are actual recipes, just the vibe I got).

Just watching and listening to her and Tyler's podcast and wow she just basks in him talking about how "hot" she is and kept preening/messing with her hair. She is so annoying.

Yeah it's not *just* Jen, that's how most cookbooks are these days. Even online you have to scroll through paragraphs about toddlers, apple picking, and holiday memories before you get to the recipe.

Jen is really in super charged shill mode right now.

The new book, kitchenware, handbags. It’s truly manic.

Now she’s doing a live.

Panicky is a bad sales posture.

Do you think she’s in “make hay while the sun shines” mode in that she senses that she is slowly becoming irrelevant and let’s get as much as I can while I can? I can’t quite see her as ever thinking she doesn’t have hoards of fan girls, but maybe get what I can until I figure out my next angle?

Gabrielle Union isn't a big name?! I know this thread is full of white women but come ON.

Jen’s kind of over the top begging for people to attend her upcoming tour seems it has a bit of desperation.

She's probably afraid her tour will flop as badly as Rachel Hollis's has.

When I learned Tyler lived in Nashville, I was surprised he was not on my radar. So I did a dive in his Instagram:

The man has an over abundance of professional headshots of himself on there. Random google search shows the same- tons of profesh photographs of himself

The folks he follows on Instagram seems to have a lot of merritts so he might not have a private one

He seems to be amazingly disengaged with the AA community here. There are 2 HBCUs which are doing interesting things, and he follows nothing about them, much less promoting their events in any way.

Amazing disengaged in some of the notable AA businesses/other endeavors. Doesn’t follow, doesn’t promote

Not engaged with nonprofit community as a whole. Only followed one agency that isn’t particularly holding space for social justice issues? What about AA focused no profits?

Seems to occupy white space. Follows white influencers, white actresses, white celebrities, etc. writes about the queen’s death.

Didn’t have a book signing for his children’s book at the most respected bookstore in town.

In short, Tyler seems to be all about Tyler. I admit I have read or watched much of his work. It a disconnect to what I assume he’d want connections with that is absent.
