Well, does anyone know if any showed up?

Be happy those players aren’t showing up as they’d all take spots away from your DD. The average Pride and Stars parents are celebrating this morning.

Currently the over/under is 1.5.

If that line is number of current MD players ending up on Cap Blue, I would take the over.

Who would want to join this mess? Spare me the Capital is great at recruiting line, the parents here are awful as evidenced by the nasty and unprovoked comments directed at MD families.

This forum is not real life. There are provocateurs and imposters among us. My kid plays for one of the teams that would presumably supply a good number of players. That team had a bunch of nice girls and nice parents and everyone got along. I would guess the Capital teams would have a similar culture.

Yes, but the trolls are almost certainly parents. Pretty sad.

This is consistently one of the most popular lacrosse forums. Probably a small group are taking care to keep the conversation going, and sometimes injecting some drama is an effective tool. It's basically entertainment at this point, and pretty disconnected from reality at times.

Other way around bro … be happy the best of Pride isn’t competing for Md teams or you’d be sweating thru your HUK shirts.

This is completely untrue but I love your confidence!

I sincerely feel sorry for whomever is the 28 Capital Blue coach. If I could give advice to the 25 Blue coach it would be to retire now or wait for the 29' or 30's. This group of parents all think that their daughter will be playing for UNC or Northwestern in 5 years. They are the worst of sports parents - entitled, unrealistic and overbearing. Good luck to the poor soul who has to deal with this group for the next 3 years. I also feel sorry for the recruiting director who will be asked over and over in a few years "why isn't my daughter getting recruited by UNC, Northwestern or BC?"

Great example of a post disconnected from reality, probably influenced by other similar posts. I can only speak for one of the local teams, and "entitled, unrealistic and overbearing" is so far from being true it is laughable.

+1 - Totally agree

Capital does a good job of buffering the parents. In fact, they say from day one they don’t want to hear from you. All communication is done via the player and the coach. Can only assume this rule was put in place due to the surplus of idiot parents in the DMV.

Capital has never dealt with these parents though. God help them.

Maybe you should look a little closer at the Maryland practice fields over the past month

I am glad that has been your experience but that has certainly not been ours nor others on said team (and I’m going to presume our daughters are on the same team). Bullying amongst players and exclusion by players AND parents has been our experience. If my DD makes Capital I hope to see a shift in culture.

No team was said. Which team are you talking about?

Agree. More nonsense above. Doesn't resemble our team at all. Parents and kids get along.

As for "unrealistic", I have never heard a single comment from a parent on our team with an expectation of playing at a top 10 program. Not even for making Capital. Not one, in 4 years. A few have talked about their DD's hope to "play in college"--which is entirely realistic--but that's about it.

For those of us who just got off a 4 tournament, multi-camp/clinic June schedule, in an extended heat wave, "entitled" doesn't hit the mark either. This is hard work, and even more so for the players.

And agree that Capital's policies and approach prevent the nonsense that apparently people are seeing at other clubs.

MD teams are still playing tournaments. Along with multiple showcases. Just sayin’.
