So, how many kids were absent today?

Just curious. My kids said that tons of kids were absent, but I think they are exaggerating.

My high school kid said that there were not a noticeable number of absences in his classes.

I was at a playground with my toddler and was surprised by the number of big kids there.

DS's after-school activity was cancelled, however. The director didn't want to come back one day early.

My MCPS high-schooler said a lot were absent. One class only had 4 kids.

Mine said his largest class was 10 kids (normally would be 30-34). And 1/2 the teachers were subs.

Both my kids teachers were absent. They reported some but not tons of kids absent.

I'm a teacher. We had 8 staff out of 60 absent but it was a religious holiday for two of them (observant Jews). I believe out count of absent kids was under 200. Some students were with us only part of the day because they had doctors' appointments.

We did service-oriented projects in every class. Awesome day!

I work in a school and about 18% of students were absent (a typical day is less than 5%). Only 2 teachers were absent and one was last minute due to an injury.

My kids' ES classroom only had one kid absent. His teacher was there.

I drove by Wootton and Quince Orchard and the student lots were about half full. Northwest looked nearly full.

ES Kid #1 had 1 student absent. ES Kid #2 had 4 students absent. Both teachers were there.

My daughter's K class had 16 kids present out of 25; my son's had 18 out of 23 (as reported by my kids).
