So, how many kids were absent today?

We had 40 out which was the highest all year.

My son says Churchill was pretty empty. There were senior classes with <10 kids in them. Other grades were missing a bunch too but it wasn't as drastic. He says his Junior only AP Lang class was only half full (12 kids).

Just goes to show you that an excused absence means parents don't care. I highly doubt 20% of the school or more were on legit vacations today. Lazy lazy lazy.

Actually, what it just goes to show me is that a lot of people in Potomac go away for spring break.

One of my kids had a sub today, and nine kids were absent (on vacation).

My kid was absent as he was sick. I feel so silly as it's legit, but I'm sure they question it.

I wouldn't know my kids didn't go. We spent the day in DC with visiting family

A significant number of absences were due to the White House Easter Egg roll.

You life is pathetically shallow.

Sorry you don't care about family.

I am a teacher (not in the DC area). We had a day off in early April that was changed to a make-up day. It was changed 2 weeks ahead of time to a school day. I had made plans to take my kids out of town for a long weekend to visit family so we left as scheduled and I didn't feel bad about missing that day. I wasn't the only one.

Sounded like about 25% were absent from my kids' elementary school classes today.
