| It's not scientology or one of the other ones you've heard of - it's much smaller. |
| Is it the ashram on East West Highway? |
| Did you wear purple track suits and have bunk beds? |
My friend went to an ashram for a week. He hasn't yet returned (two years later!) |
| Which cult? How did you get involved? |
My parents met in it, left it, had kids, and then we all went back in. So, from childhood. |
| Are you out? If so, how did you get out? |
I made a plan and ran away with the help of a couple of people who were out. |
| What do you mean by "escape?" Like you dug a hole under the electric fence and crawled out at 3am, all the while chased by armed guards? Or did you just say "Screw you guys, I'm out of here," and leave? |
It was somewhere between the two. They had a feeling I was getting ready to run because I'd asked a lot of questions that hinted at it (I was quite naive) so people were all of a sudden constantly around me. |
| What was it about the cult that made you want to escape? |
The usual negative stuff you hear about - women having no choice, physical punishments, hard labor, limited education, teen girls being "married" off to older men, public humiliation, etc. |

This cult is in the DC area?
Do authorities know about it and can't do anything? |
No, it's not in this area. |
| What state (or area of the country) is the cult in? |
