Catania's position is working...

Anonymous
Flurry of emails on the neighborhood listserv- this in particular struck me:

"I had a support Bowser sign in my front yard for Bowser for the primary election but am now concerned with her position wanting to look at " choice set" which really is a lottery system.... I do not support "choice set". "

This person doesn't even have kids in the system- they are grown.

^^ Yet another reason Catania has my full support. I saw this man in action trying to save DC General. He's the real deal. Moms and dads, our candidate is here.

Curious. Which neighborhood?

So, how is DC General doing these days?

This, folks, is Catania in a nutshell. The patient is dead, but the doctor looked damn good trying to save him!

Same sentiment East of the Park too. People at Bancroft don't want choice sets either.

This man fought the good fight. I was in the courtroom with he and Kevin Chavous. He has integrity. The corporation that dismantled DC General has big pocketbooks and their fraudulent behavior was later discovered when they destroyed the former Greater Southeast Hospital. Whether all of his ideas produce a favorable result or not, Catania will look you in the eye, treat you as an equal and if he thinks an issue is right, fight with all of his might for it.

My wife was a DCGH employee at the time so I followed the saga pretty closely. Catania was all "Show Horse" on that; always a day late and dollar short on ideas to keep the hospital viable, but always VERY LOUD about it.

His signature "Promise Scholarships" are of the same vein....makes him look good, but when Congress whacks $10M or $20M out of the D.C. TAG program, who will be left holding the bag?

You sound like a Bowser crony. Good think is we see right through you. Talk about a show horse. How about show puppet for yourself. I was deeply entrenched in the fight and had personal dealings with Catania. He was a personal party to the lawsuit that was forged to keep DC General alive. He was right there with us as we paraded through the halls of Congress and marched at 1 Judiciary Square. He definitely had ideas and worked hard to execute them. He was a do-er and not a talker. He wasn't getting paid by anyone under the table, didn't owe anyone political favors and didn't have any dirt to hide. He's just a driven professional who's focused is on the most important thing in the city right now- improving our schools. With respect to DC TAG, there's more than one way to look at that issue. I think "Promise" has more usefulness and I appreciate that he's actually doing something. Bowser is a big cheesy fake smile. Smoke and mirrors at its best. Alice Deal for all. What a load of unsupportable baloney. She should be ashamed for even coming up with that nonsense.

Then you need to get behind Catania. He needs all of us. He especially needs African American moms and dads in Wards 7 and 8. How can we reach this crucial voting block?

^^ While Bowser is taking photo ops cheesing up a storm and bowing to her constituents (hey- that pun came natural: "Bowing Bowser"), Catania will be out in the field fighting for black kids, fighting for brown kids, fighting for white kids. He's who we need right now.

I would like to put a Catania sign in my yard, but I fear being looked at differently and I'm AA.

Can Catania win? I am totally voting for him. But seriously, can he win? Have there been any polls?
