This a breakdown of FCV’s GA competition by State ranking:

Sporting Delaware 1 (Four teams ranked)
SJEB 2 NJ
Metro 7 VA
Baltimore Celtic 9 MD
Baltimore Armour 10 MD
Skyline 13 VA
Ukrainian Nationals 28 PA
PA Classics 31 PA

The league is not competitive enough for FCV

1st tier
1 Richmond
2 Arlington

2nd tier
3(a) TSJ
3(b) Pipeline
4 Maryland United

3rd tier
5(a) Metro
5(b) VDA
5(c) Union
5(d)Loudoun
5(e) BSC

I wouldn’t consider Richmond part of DMV and Pipeline is a stretch but we’ll keep them in since you did.

1. Richmond
2. Pipeline
3. VDA (Win over Bethesda, Loss to NC Courage and tie to Union)
4. Arlington (Loss to Richmond, have not played other good opponents yet)
5. FCV (Win and Loss to Virginia Union)
6. Bethesda (Wins over Matchfit, Maryland United, and Loudoun)
7. Loudoun (4-1 in ECNL)
8. Virginia Union (1-2-2 in ECNL play, win and tie against FCV, tie to Union)
9. Metro United (Loss to FCV, tie to Skyline)
10. Maryland United (Losses to VYS, Bethesda, and tie to FC Delco, lost to Pipeline 5-1)

I could have easily put VYS or FC Frederick at #10. If Arlington can get a win against NC Courage or VDA, them they go up. They need a quality win to back up it’s hype.

This ^^^ pretty accurate here ^^^

Richmond is now no one? Interesting.

No, you lost to Richmond. One goal or not, a loss is a loss. Come back after you have a quality win. Until then you shouldn't be talking.

What top teams has FCV even played against not to mention beaten?

Loss and win over Union. They beat SJEB over the weekend. SJEB is better/ranked higher than Union and about equal to Arlington.

Thanks, upon looking again, I would probably lose Metro and MD United while adding VYS and FC Frederick.

No leave Metro at top 10 for the parents

There is no evidence of that. FCV has never beaten a team ranked higher than they are in the few opportunities where they have played anyone ranked at or higher. They are ranked nationally 73rd and fail to beat teams higher than that.

So, yes they are better than what has been shown to be their competition in GA but would prove to be mid table at ECNL. Their local ranking is simply to high due to their cupcake schedule and splitting results against a lower mid table VA Union.

Their strength of schedule will see them slowly dropping in the rankings.

ECNL standings for 08 VA teams:

2. Richmond United.
4. Loudoun
5. VDA
6. Arlington
9. VA Union
14. BRYC

VA Union and VDA had the toughest schedule so far, but both were not competitive against NC Courage and tied each other. VDA plays Loudoun next and VA Union plays Richmond so the standings could change by the end of the next weekend. Arlington will play NC Courage next week end.

Let’s take a moment to recognize that this is a pretty competitive age group. There is some separation but overall it looks to be pretty close.

Except when you take a look at the way a lot of these teams play, then you realize who is the better team. Kickball or kick and run is the least entertaining style to watch. It's a shame that everyone just looks at winning and not developing the players. It's also a shame that girls play such horrible soccer. Either they don't watch soccer on tv or know one is telling them what a horrible style this is.

Metro would be mid table in ECNL if given the chance

No, middle bottom, if not bottom. Middle of GA does not equal middle of ECNL. Sorry.

Didn't BRYC beat Metro 4-1 a few months ago? Why is Metro brought up into these discussions? Add BRYC to top 10 team teams in the area since they beat ranked 7 Metro

Was this a scrimmage? No such score appears on either teams Youth Soccer Rankings game log.

So because it was a scrimmage it shouldn't count?
