Metropolitan DC Local Politics
The DC snipers were using a rifle with a telescope device to aim with in order to shoot people over 150 yards away in a couple cases. That's exactly why these telescope devices and the rifles that allow their use should be outlawed. We've already had numerous examples of such long distance killing. |
So maybe men should have their penis removed because it has the potential to be misused? |
STOP PUTTING WORDS IN MY MOUTH!!! I didn't say ANYTHING about banning hunting rifles. I said we need to ban SNIPER GUNS. Guns that use high magnification telescope aiming devices that can shoot accurately past a hundred or more feet. I didn't say a single word about banning hunting rifles. Stop trying to move the goalposts. I'm in favor of hunting. |
Why on earth is a 76 year old on a mommy website? |
No argument from me. Might be a good thing considering how many men seem to think with it instead of their brains. |
I think my County should be able to have you excluded from our farmers market if you choose to open carry your penis. Is there a state law in Virginia that prevents my county from banning penis open carry? |
Or at least mandatory vasectomies to avoid unwanted pregnancies. |
Sorry lol no "telescope device". The optic that was used in an Bushnell holographic sight which is NOT MAGNIFIED. And re reading the case info, I see shootings occurring at 35-70 yards not 150. This was done by a man who was trained on iron sights out to 500 meters. I'm still digging, but I'm not finding any civilian homicides in the last 15 years which would be considered sniper incidents. |
Yes, an unbiased independent source. Official LEO data or similar. |
| 70 yards is 210 feet. That is FAR longer a distance than any person with lawful motives needs to be able to shoot. |
I really don't know why we need cars that can go over 120 MPH, when even highway speeds are 65MPH, with a few 75 MPH in a few states, and you 90MPH would be more than enough to pass someone going 75MPH. Its crazy. Also just like we have GPS based speed governors on scooters, adding them for cars would make sense. I also think the car size escalation with SUVs and big pickups becoming more common than sedans is crazy, and has led to a vast increase in pedestrian traffic fatalities, but I can't think of a good way to regulate that that wouldn't effect the few people who do need large pickups (with some economic importance) Maybe a tax based on vehicle size? Be assured the new majority in Richmond will be looking at ways to address traffic safety, I look forward to your support on that. |
You seen to think there is a difference between the two. Many sniper rifles in use by the military are standard hunting rifles with a little extra engineering. For instance my 40 year old Remington 700 (most popular bolt action rifle in America) was adopted by both the Army and Marines and the M24/M40. It sounds like you have a problem with optics and want them banned. If this is the case you truly are crazy, but I'll add it to the list of things you guys are trying to ban. |
| I remember when I lived in Tysons and had just purchased a nice Schmidt& Bender that set me back about $4k. But holy shit I could see into Bethesda, I can't recommend them enough. |
LOL it happens everyday without anyone getting killed. I think you like in a fantasy world. |
False equivalence |
