Lack Of Eye Candy At Janney

You can't get these kinds of threads in Arlington. Another reason to prefer DC!

This thread was brought to my attention today by a Janney teacher. I must say I am appalled that you all found 26 pages of things to say about something I would scold my elementary school children for saying, no less posting on the internet, about others. Its nasty, useless and completely inappropriate. Please revisit all those internet rules and etiquette lessons you would tell your children or re-enter elementary school yourself and learn how to operate in a supportive and productive society.

Because all those references to detachables are actual nasty references to "others?" No argument about uselessness, and one can debate the "appropriateness" of some (ok, maybe most) of the humor in the thread, but with some exceptions earlier in the 26 page saga, you are confusing silliness with nastiness / un-supportiveness. Maybe you could use some remedial education in reading comprehension?

Katherine had heard Mrs. Badcrumble's lectures on decency before. Who did Mrs. Badcrumble think she was anyway? She put her silk stockings on one at a time, just like the rest of us--and why, hadn't we all seen her sneaking a peek at the merchandise at last weekend's open market? Katherine listened patiently and then walked carefully treading on the wooden planks that laid the path to the posh, brightly painted, 2 story organic chicken coop in the back of her house. Behind a locked hidden compartment, Katherine kept a secret stash of exotic detachables...

No detachables were harmed in the making of this thread.

And here we have someone who was probably collecting demerits or the equivalent (yellow or red light during kindergarten!) during his/her time in school.

Is it bad that I was opening this thread I was saying to myself "Please don't be about the kids, please let's hope we haven't stooped that low..."

I have so little faith these days.
