I think it's obvious it's some sort of disgruntled Hero's person who's kid likely got cut from HoCo... or Century... or both? I was more commenting about all the hate on M&D as well - and there has been people trashing not only HoCo 34, but the HoCo 33 / 35s (and i guess the whole org for some reason???)... there is clearly someone butt hurt about the fact that HoCo has managed to compete with Hero's in the Elementary ages, who the hell cares? Hero's / M&D are the best right? so why go so upset? Unless you think there actually is a chance the tide is turning? Nobody knows, but programs are dominant until they are not, nothing lasts forever. |
+1 |
I don’t believe the PE firm who owns M&D will allow them to pay $10k+ in tuition. And most private school are closer to $30k. There’s no way. |
| every weekend we crown a new champion. |
Pretty sure they mean offering to pay the kids Club Dues for a year or two. That's common with the larger clubs if they need to improve a team. It's a small investment for them now in hopes that they maintain their brand image and improve the team. You don't have to pay for a year or two and can be a big help for some of these non-affluent families. They also think if they can convince 1 or 2 studs to come then the rest will follow. But if they are also paying the kids Private School Tuition, SIGN ME UP!!!!! |
Cool story bro. Keep on beating up on that strawman. |

I see there are a lot of hurt feelings about M&D's poor performance at the lower grade levels.
Yes, M&D is dominant now in middle school but things can change very quickly. |
Yes! Amen! |
Im sure they aren’t happy about last year’s performances, but they clearly are doing something about it. I heard the 34 black team is completely revamped. Will be interesting to see how it plays out. |
| I’m fascinated more by the fact that M&D and Hero’s have so few players on D1 championship teams. |
There are 100s of teams that send girls to D1, it’s not surprising at all when you only pick 4 years. Plenty of m&d all americans this year, not many from Heros, but that will change over the next couple of years. |
Seems more like issue is that someone associated with HoCo insists on trashing more established clubs in an effort to reassure themselves and everyone else that their players won’t leave. Parity isn’t the issue - by late middle school there’s tons of it and it’s enjoyable. If HoCo wants to stay together, no one on M&D, Coppermine, Skywalkers, MDU, Heros cares. Have fun - but leave everyone else out of it. |
Yes. My OP (that they're 4th graders) was shorthand. That the poster may want to take a step back and evaluate the crazy. In a normal world, you'd see a gentile discussion on 3rd, 4th and 5th graders playing sports. The before and after of our respective posts of course proves otherwise when it comes to MD/DC area and their lacrosse parents. A special breed. Entertaining, though it is. |
It was a five year look back (not four). And sorry but it is surprising -- M&D and Hero's consistently rank as the nation's top high school club teams yet they aren't sending players to teams that win it all. One from Hero's over five years? Just four from M&D? Those numbers should be way higher. What happened? |
M&D had at least 2 on the UNC championship team last year so that number is wrong. Caroline Godine and Kate Levy. |
