In Silver Spring in walking distance of Blair and still assigned to a school not within walking distance. Not happy with this at all plus the dissolution of the DCC. Lots of unhappy neighbors.

But they did improve the walk zone for Blair, reassigning North and South Four Corners to Blair from Northwood.

Never ceases to amaze me how people within walking distance of Blair don't understand that it's never gonna be possible to have everyone within walking distance of Blair assigned to Blair. (Especially since it's not like they're that far from Northwood, either.)

It’s great that YOU are happy but don’t expect EVERYONE to be happy for you. Why do some neighborhoods get to walk and others don’t? Come tell me how you feel when your kids literally ride a bus 10 minutes past a school they can walk to.

Woodlin families are generally fine with Einstein but extremely disappointed to lose Sligo.

+1

The issue is that there’s no high school inside the beltway and TKPK/downtown SS are getting assigned to Blair because it’s far but still closer than Northwood.

Is it? I feel like what the DCC schools need is a humanities option.

There are humanities options at many schools, especially IB. Einstien has humanities/IB, so stem at Northwood would make sense.

You know that's happening now and its normal. And, with the DCC, families choose schools with a 10 minute bus ride as their home schools don't have what their kids need or want.

If anywhere there needs to be a new HS there.

So is the expectation of folks that live close to Blair that folks in TK be bussed past Blair to Northwood so they can walk to school? I don't get it

They need to relook at them maps but that’s not reasonable.

Blair and Northwood are like 5 minutes from each other.
