What exactly is the democratic party going to stand for in 2026 and 2028?

Since DC doesn't convict anyone they feel crime is down. They aren't fooling me. There's crime everywhere.

Governor Newsom (the 2028 favored candidate by the DNC) conducted an ocean side press conference where he announced no more water for the city fire department. As mayor of San Fran, he helped engineer a poo app to let the citizens know where the homeless recently defecated.
Among other highlights, he passed a bill making voter ID illegal in California (essentially making California a one party state even though real Californians know the state skews Republican/red), a law decriminalizing pedophilia from a felony to a misdemeanor if the age gap is less than 10 years, & a law ending parental notification requirements related to a childs gender identity.

This is the leader the Dems want to be our next President.

No we definitely don’t want a Charlie Kirk worshipper to be president. And, please never say “San Fran” again.

For all the Californians saying that Newsom isn’t MAGA here’s your proof. MAGA is delighting in him for giving so much airtime to MAGA blowhards that they think CA is turning red. Be forewarned.

California has the highest taxes in the country (except for maybe Hawaii) and is in shambles. Why is that?

California is in shambles? Who says?

How does UVA have this insane person educating students???

To each their own. Your kid doesn't have to take that class if they don't wish to. Mind your own business.

Democrats should instead of being about total resistance to Trump, show they can work with him. They should support his tariffs, which are opposed by so many Republicans in Congress.

This would help bring back those Obama voters that switched to Trump.

Those swing voters you are referring too swung away from Trump in 2020 and they'll swing away from him again in 2028. Until one of our parties put forth a legitimate POTUS again, these swing voters will continue to flip flop every four years. Odds of us not being able to do better than Trump and Biden in 2028 are slim so there is reason for optimism.

Newsome predicted a $12b shortfall in his $322b budget presented in May. The high speed rail is $100b over budget and was supposed to be done in 2020. No high speed track has been laid yet, in 2025. Medi-cal has a $2b shortfall while it spends $8.5b from its general fund to pay for illegal immigrants in the state. Gavin proposes $5b in cuts ($15b in cuts by 2028) pulling $7b from reserves. Programs from emergency childcare to food assistance to higher ed (UC) are being slashed.

If you honestly think you’ll regain the presidency with the same policies as 2024, you’re in serious political trouble.

Throw in over $300 billion in pension liabilities, and yeah, not looking so good.

Lol... idiots said the same thing in 2017. How'd that work out in 2020? Policies don't matter when elections are about change from historically unpopular sitting presidents.

You have not seen today’s videos of the current LA riots? (inspired by their negligent mayor).

Good to see Dems having open discussions about what went wrong and picking up the pieces from the Biden mess.

The GOP won't be able to have their inflection point until the dust settles from the mess Trump leaves behind in 2029. This puts the Dems four years ahead of the GOP in their efforts to become functional again.

I posted the video.

Yes, right after you democrats apologize for ramping up violent crime in the cities, banning people through social media payoffs from the government, turning on your own citizens, collapsing our big cities (none of which are in very good shape and 90% of which are run by democrat mayors and councils), threatening people with losing their jobs for not taking the vax... while importing mass poverty with no vaccination constraints, 86'ing common sense, lawfaring all your political enemies, catering to Beijing's every wish, losing Ukraine and Israel, and putting a senile dementia patient in the White House and refusing to remove him even though he was "a well-meaning man with a poor memory" with his hand on the nuclear button.

Um, I think you need to apologize for fake news.

In 2023, DC hit the lowest violent crime rate in 30 years.

https://www.nbcwashington.com/investigations/dc-violent-crime-is-lowest-in-30-years-as-us-attorney-predicts-further-drops/3797354/?amp=1

If you don’t allow people to report crimes, it’s easy to make the crime rate low.

No idea what the Democrats stand for, I really don't know. When I think about Democrats, it's hard not to think they care more about the rights of human traffickers and sexual abusers than everyday Americans. They claim to be upset by Trump's big beautiful bill but the party exploded the deficit under Biden too. They claim to be for working Americans but yet are so strangely detached from everyday working America, obsessing over trans issues in illogical ways. They claimed Biden was sharp as nails while he was stumbling around Grampa Simpson style. They utilized Fed agencies to censor the Hunter Biden laptop and then claimed to worry about misinformation and disinformation. Prominent Democrats like Kerry and Walz openly criticized the First Amendment. They freak out over Trump's deportations and accuse him of being a fascist but turned a blind eye and even openly encouraged 20 million illegal migrants in just four years and then scream due process in using the courts to block deportation.

In short, I can't respect the Democrats on fiscal grounds, I can't respect them on policy grounds, I can't respect them on ideological grounds, I can't respect them in government. What's left? Nothing.

Anonymous wrote:Are the Ds out to sea? I LOATHE trump. But where are we in 2024?

The Border?
Tariffs?
Taxes and Spending?
Social Justice?
DEI?
Russia / Ukraine?
Energy?
EV policy?

Border: sensible enforcement without cruel and unusual punishment, splitting families, or targeting political speech.

Tariffs: repeal and return to the negotiated rates from the Biden administration

Taxes: return to the rates we had under Clinton, when the budget was actually balanced. Sensible entitlement reductions (eg shifting full retirement age to 70). Adult budget process so Treasury auctions remain successful.

Social justice: this is a buzzword that doesn’t translate to national policy.

DEI: focus on equality of opportunity for all Americans rather than selectively persecuting minorities by firing them from Federal service. Restore the DOJ enforcement of civil rights

Russia/Ukraine: work with Europe to continue containing Russian aggression.

Energy: get out of the way of market-based decarbonization of energy supplies, by not artificially propping up coal and petroleum.

EVs: better infrastructure for charging and upgrades to the electrical grid so we can keep up with China and other 21st century economies, and not be stuck as a relic of the 20th century as desired by Republicans.

Border:
What counts as "sensible" border enforcement is pretty vague. The fact of the matter is that the overwhelming majority of illegal aliens are just hard working economic refugees. But no country can afford to have porous borders and we cannot allow democratic presidents to unilaterally suspend immigration laws to let them in and we cannot allow republican presidents to suspend due process to get rid of them. Democrats deserved to lose on the immigration issue. The gaslighting on the immigration problem was outrageous. Democrats should never do this again. If you want more low skill immigrants then change the law and take the political heat for it. Don't lie to america and pretend that you aren't letting in waves of low skill illlegal immigrants. We have more than enough low skill citizens for one country.

Tariffs:
Our goal should be the lowest possible barriers to trade consistent with national security.

Social Justice:
The concept is vague. To some it means relatively equal opportunity, and to others it means relatively equal outcomes.

DEI:
DEI isn't about equality of opportunity, it is about equal outcomes. And disparity of outcomes between races is proof of racial oppression. What this administration seems to be doing is making the blanket assumption that successful minorities are all there do to undeserved racial preferences. This is hazard of racial preferences, some people will put an asterisk next to everything you achieve. Fair or not, it's understandable.

Russia/Ukraine:
I think you're probably right.

Energy: How exactly are we propping up coal and petroleum? And should we also be eliminating the direct cash subsidy for solar panels and wind power (I just got a tax credit for 30% of the cost of installing solar panels on my house)?

EVs: Thank you, Elon Musk. WTF happened to you?

How about the republic and democracy worldwide?

Are you going to support democracy by not holding a primary and trying get your political opponent jailed? Or will you do it differently this time?

What are people supposed to do if a politician commits crimes?

Neither party followed any conventions at all. Presidential debate in June, BEFORE either party's national convention, where nominees are supposed to be selected? And why was the Debate Commission not even involved in any of it? Both parties did some strange things that circumvented process.

Meanwhile, Trump actually committed crimes, and was actually convicted of felonies, and found liable for sexual assault. Are we supposed to somehow ignore that?

The NY felonies were pretty BS. I mean they had before never brought charges under that statute (lying on a loan application) before unless someone complained about being ripped off. There were literally million of New Yorkers that had lied on loan applciations before the financial crisis and none of them were prosecuted under that statute. Many of them defaulted and never paid off their mortgages. Trump paid off those loans
