No evidence linking Tufts student to antisemitism or terrorism, State Dept. office found

An internal memo, prepared days before Rumeysa Ozturk was detained by ICE agents, raises doubts about the Trump administration’s claims that she supports Hamas.

Thank you for the update. I’ve been following the case closely. So basically Rubio et al were LYING. But apparently he has discretion to deport whomever he wants.

People need to realize that being pro-Palestine does not mean you are pro-Hamas. Just like being pro-Israel does not mean that you are a Zionist.

You've never met a grad student? Also, college is not high school. People can and do attend at any age.

She is a Ph.D student. Went to Columbia for undergrad.

Yes they come over here on never ending student visas and get multiple degrees under the protection of colleges hoping to give them a pathway to citizenship. I know of one so called professor who has 4 masters degrees all paid for by the university to prolong their stay as long as possible. The chain migration through the guide of education needs to be looked at by DHS

Evenif this were true, so what??!!

Anyone with a brain knows that protesting the war crimes of Netanyahu doesn’t mean support for the other side, Hamas. That’s why only maga believe that the protesters are for Hamas.

It reminds me of Bush when “support the troops” meant you could not criticize what the US was doing and their lying about weapons of mass destruction.

Less opportunities for US citizens.

Or do you think there is magic and somehow more opportunities appear from thin air?

Or you probably think that is ok because US citizens are “lazy”

The solution is very simple. If you're not a citizen, just don't protest or write anything against the state of Israel and no one will bother you.

Sorry but you really can't be pro-Israel without being Zionist. Israel as a religious ethnostate could not exist without the oppression, occupation, and treatment of the majority population of Palestinians as unequals.

Here is an idea. The gig is up. If you think one can not follow the rules or one is likely to interact with the courts (likely to get into a violent conflict or trespass or damage property), maybe you should consider moving. It’s more comfortable and on your own terms.

Other countries, especially in Latin and South America, are NOT hell scapes. They are acceptable and they need hard workers like you.

Palestine existed a long time before Hamas. You can absolutely support its citizens without supporting its "government." See also Venezuelans, Filipinos, Sudanese as an example

+1 There are also untold millions around the world right now who support America and Americans while disagreeing with our current government. This isn’t hard.
