Biden was the one who brought her race and gender before selecting her to be a VP. He hurt her badly with that stupid announcement. |
I would like to see an analysis of changes in his speech patterns since he was elected in 2016. At that time experts observed extreme differences between how he spoke in the 80s and 90s and then. He used to speak in complex sentences, he used to use multi-syllabic words. By 2016, not any more. This included unscripted speech. A lot of people saying he "tells it like it is" is just people responding to him speaking at the equivalent of a 4th grade reading level. And some of that might be touching on primitive emotional responses?--unspoken biases against groups of people or just their sense of grievance? https://www.statnews.com/2017/05/23/donald-trump-speaking-style-interviews/:

But there was no hostility! The interviewer was polite and asked him questions exclusively about THINGS HE HAS ACTUALLY SAID. This was a perfect opportunity to present himself to the black community however he wanted to. He went bonkers. He seemed stressed and old. |
Yeah, they are scared of anybody who can think. |
Props to Trump for showing up to do the job. Unlike Biden and Kamala. |
She was raised by her Brahmin mother, raised Hindu, speaks Hindi — and her father also has Indian ancestry. She wasn’t even raised in the United States from the time she was 12. She can identify however she wants, but she is not a product of the African-American experience, and certainly not ADOS. She is not even part of the American immigrant experience, in that neither of her Ph.D. parents became U.S. citizens. As a Brahmin, the dirty little secret is that she is against anti-caste legislation in the United States. Someone should ask her about that, if she ever does give an unscripted interview. |
Buttigeg just went on Fox. Whenever we accuse MAGA leaders of something they say,”well Bill Clinton did this” or “Hunter Biden did that.” It is like arguing with a second grader. They can never really defend voting for Trump . Instead they deflect and point fingers. Pathetic. |
Interesting example. He's simply not capable of this type of sentence anymore. “Ross Perot, he made some monumental mistakes. Had he not dropped out of the election, had he not made the gaffes about the watch dogs and the guard dogs, if he didn’t have three or four bad days — and they were real bad days — he could have conceivably won this crazy election.” Obvious cognitive regression. |

He talks and fights like my MIL who has dementia. |
And the MAGAs accuse liberals of being obsessed with race.... Wow. |
I don't see why this is even a big deal. Dems have always led in terms of promoting women and minority candidates, but nominations are nothing like DEI as a policy (which btw I consider admirable in general). It is about attracting groups of voters. Why did the elder Bush pick Thomas? Because his predecessor was Thurgood Marshall. When Brennan stepped down, Thomas was actually on the list, but was considered too inexperienced and--more importantly--it was expected Marshall would retire, which was just one year later. And what was Thomas' response to the Anita Hill battle? To declare it a "high tech lynching." |
What's worse - code switching or birtherism? |
Her father did become a citizen, though. Got any other ignorant comments? https://web.stanford.edu/~dharris/professional_career.htm |
He already knew he was going to choose a woman, which is what he said. He never identified race when he made that statement. |
