Just for the record, I have never knowingly been contacted by anyone from FCPS (I have no idea who submits anonymous reports, of course).

I am fascinated how many in this thread even care this much about football. This is so low on my radar of things to care about but I'm nosey. It could also be because I have 4 girls.

You're nosy but don't understand other's perspectives? You have four girls so this is why you don't care. They don't even have a girl's football team and few girls play football for high school. If whatever program they were interested in in high school that you felt they were eligible were suddenly overtaken by other kids not living in your district or even your county, you would be ok with all four of them not doing their passion in high school because of cuts related to relationships with the teacher and illegal entry? Let's say it's theater and your kid was a star performer in middle school and now can't even get a minor role because some teacher who wants to be a stage manager on Broadway and has had some success with two students has come to your school and brought all these kids she's trained as if to open up a school within a school and she doesn't know your kid and wants to promote the talent she's already helped to make a name for herself. Your kids are now stagehands and on top of it these new theater kids are entitled and bully your kids because they feel special.

You don't think this happens in sports and theater and all types of activities in HS then you clearly don't have kids in HS.

It does NOT happen in any public school activity like this. You clearly don't have kids in HS.

Teachers or school sponsors cherry pick all the time. It's not a meritocracy.

What are you even babbling about? Teachers pick the Yearbook Photographers out from a completely different county or state?

You don't think its significant for 14 students to live outside the school boundaries and be attending the school? Even if 6 moved (we have no evidence of that either way), then that's 8 kids who shouldn't be there.

You don't know where any of these students live.

Allegations were made. An investigation was conducted that determined the allegations to be unfounded. You have no evidence to the contrary. What are you even doing here?

Define “investigation”. What was the budget and how many man hours went into it? Truth is there probably wasn’t any real investigation, that’s just a weasel word to use to shut everyone up. And these are minor kids, so nothing would be told to the public anyways. Reality is nobody cares; the taxpaying parents at the school don’t care, the alleged “investigators” don’t care, nobody cares.

Why do you keep saying this nonsense phrase "taxpaying parents at the school"-are you from another country?
Obviously, a whole lot of people care. Its not usual for the FCPS Superintendent to have a special in person meeting at a high school to tell people there is nothing to tell them. There has been a series of investigative news articles. Coaches from other schools signed a letter complaining. This comment thread has 27 pages of people interested in the topic.

Please define investigation. Who investigated, what are their professional credentials, how much was spent on the investigation? Did they hire an outside law firm and P.I.s?

Election bureaus don’t even care when pols lie about residency, you think a school district or some high school sports bureaucracy cares?

It would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to genuinely investigate dozens of alleged cases of residency fraud.

Nobody cares. This is small potatoes.

At the school board meeting tonight, the motion to request an external investigation failed. Only three board members supported it.

Which three?

It’s because Hayfield has a new AA principal and AA coach in a school with a sizable AA student body and the football player transfers in question are AA. FCPS is afraid of appearing racially biased although everyone knows that the principal and coach are stacking the team with transfers to create a football powerhouse program.

This is racist and dumb, but it is a response.

You are the racist and dumb for not acknowledging the obvious

came here from the news. who cares?
