Yes, she does have a ton of support locally. From all the liberal clowns who love SF, Portland, and Chicago and will be delighted as we trend that direction. Can’t wait until Lyon Park looks like Columbia Pike.

This is what happens when you create an entire generation of middle aged children (our ostensible professional and leadership class) who’ve abandoned the fundamental values that allowed for them to gather together in lily white enclaves of wealth and safety in the first place. Good luck to your children as they mature in a society with no respect for the rule of law, no sense of responsibility, and no work ethic.

Fortunately some people still believe in the rule of law.

These types of posts makes Parisa look so bad that I almost think you’re playing some type of complicated mind game to undermine her. If so-mission accomplished!

She really is that bad (knowing her professionally). Rigid, devoid of empathy, and wholly driven by ambition. I quietly warned people during the last election but I won’t be silent this time.

This seems to be the case. Charging and sentencing aside, she really dropped the ball of her duties to engage in any sort of victim advocacy. I can’t believe she couldn’t even be bothered to show up for sentencing. And while there may have been reasons to explain to the Meades why she didn’t think the killer could be charged as an adult, she really didn’t need to voice concerns for the killer’s wellbeing in front of the family of the child he killed. She needs to know her audience better when dealing with victims and their families. They shouldn’t be an afterthought in the criminal justice process.

Here is her “core philosophy” from her own website: (notice that it’s basically all about what she can do to help criminals. Not even a word of concern for crime victims, which is pretty concerning for a Commonwealth’s Attorney.

“As The Commonwealth's Attorney, Parisa’s core philosophy is that safety and justice are not opposite but complementary values and that a prosecutor's primary responsibility is to treat crime as crime and people as people.  Parisa has long recognized the impact of the criminal legal system on people of color and is committed to highlighting, addressing, and reversing these disparities. She has turned these values into policies of safety and justice for all, including providing fair discovery, eliminating peremptory strikes in juries, not requesting cash bail, not certifying children as adults, staffing the only Conviction Review Unit in Virginia, establishing a new mental health docket, expanding drug court, reducing the jail population to its lowest in history, securing indictments and convictions in all serious crimes, creating a novel restorative justice program for young people, and helping to win more than $ 700,000 in criminal justice grants to Arlington and the City of Falls Church.”

This is so disgusting I’m honestly at a loss. Nothing new, she was (to her credit, I guess) perfectly open about this when getting elected in the first place. But you all have lost your flipping minds voting for this platform from a PROSECUTOR.

All those folks on the streets from “reduced jail population” and living the high life of no cash bail and “restorative justice”? Those are the ones breaking into your cars and homes, carjacking people, committing sexual assaults, aggressively panhandling outside what used to be nice areas, and committing robbery with impunity. Enjoy!

I do too. So, the next time a "teen" drunk driver hits someone, I hope it's not me but you.

Now we’ve gone beyond hints of violence by the vigilantes.

NP. The post you’re responding to does not “go beyond hints of violence.” There is no threat there, not even close. Your attempt to categorize it that way in order to try and silence others, have posts deleted, etc. is obvious and pathetic. At least have the stones to stand up for your views without resorting to censorship.

PP was stating a legitimate and broadly felt sentiment: Parisa, Chesa Boudin, and every other halfwit Social Justice Studies major that wants to cede our cities and neighborhoods to criminals and drug addicts, all in the name of some half-cocked theory of white liberal guilt, ARE the enemy. They are attempting to destroy a society most of us like. They are consumed by arrogance and as fanatical in their devotion to a perverse secular religion as any Christian or Islamic fundamentalist.

I am not going to undertake any violence or any other unlawful act toward Parisa. Want to make that very clear. I also want to make clear that I genuinely hate the woman, and if she had a family member killed by a drunk driver or in a violent crime, I would enjoy it. Better that the consequences of her asinine policies be visited upon her (or her enablers) than the innocent.

No, the PP clearly said that she hopes that the other PP gets hit by a car.

You are both vile.

In addition, they indicate that the rabid posters on this thread - a motley collection of folks who apparently either know the Meade family or their diocese or have just jumped on the thread because they love opportunities to openly express their blood lust anonymously and without consequences - may not quite reflect the prevailing community sentiment as much as they’d like to think.

Or…people want to call out the irrational, misdirected anger and politically-motivated lies.

Rabid posters? Blood lust? If you really want to see an angry mob on DCUM you should head on over to the private school forum and ask a question about getting financial aid despite a six-figure salary and owning a million dollar house.

Every R accusation is a confession.

I love that you are keeping this thread alive, giving more people in the community an opportunity to see this thread! You are definitely rallying support for her with your unemotional and reasoned logic. Keep going!

She and her sort have about 20 years left. Then the Hispanic majority of practical people who think progressive liberalism is insane will become the majority. The white, black, and few Asians who have fallen for this claptrap will be kicked to the curb and common sense will reign again.

Yeah, to me it's never made sense that we sometimes decide to treat certain children as adults. They're still kids.

It must hurt trying to function in the world with such black and white thinking, but not every brain has the capacity for nuance.

Yes, thinking someone should do more than a year of house arrest for killing someone is “racist.”

That’s absurd. Hoping that the consequences of soft-of-crime policies fall on the supporters of those policies, rather than the public at large, is just sensible.
