Quite a few supporters for Parisa refusing to allow themselves to be intimidated by the ugly mob: https://twitter.com/parisa4justice/status/1647771960149934080?s=46&t=ZhG9K3561sLGscwuRzxKFA Fortunately some people still believe in the rule of law.
These types of posts makes Parisa look so bad that I almost think you’re playing some type of complicated mind game to undermine her. If so-mission accomplished!
She really is that bad (knowing her professionally). Rigid, devoid of empathy, and wholly driven by ambition. I quietly warned people during the last election but I won’t be silent this time.
This seems to be the case. Charging and sentencing aside, she really dropped the ball of her duties to engage in any sort of victim advocacy. I can’t believe she couldn’t even be bothered to show up for sentencing. And while there may have been reasons to explain to the Meades why she didn’t think the killer could be charged as an adult, she really didn’t need to voice concerns for the killer’s wellbeing in front of the family of the child he killed. She needs to know her audience better when dealing with victims and their families. They shouldn’t be an afterthought in the criminal justice process. Here is her “core philosophy” from her own website: (notice that it’s basically all about what she can do to help criminals. Not even a word of concern for crime victims, which is pretty concerning for a Commonwealth’s Attorney. “As The Commonwealth's Attorney, Parisa’s core philosophy is that safety and justice are not opposite but complementary values and that a prosecutor's primary responsibility is to treat crime as crime and people as people. Parisa has long recognized the impact of the criminal legal system on people of color and is committed to highlighting, addressing, and reversing these disparities. She has turned these values into policies of safety and justice for all, including providing fair discovery, eliminating peremptory strikes in juries, not requesting cash bail, not certifying children as adults, staffing the only Conviction Review Unit in Virginia, establishing a new mental health docket, expanding drug court, reducing the jail population to its lowest in history, securing indictments and convictions in all serious crimes, creating a novel restorative justice program for young people, and helping to win more than $ 700,000 in criminal justice grants to Arlington and the City of Falls Church.”
This is so disgusting I’m honestly at a loss. Nothing new, she was (to her credit, I guess) perfectly open about this when getting elected in the first place. But you all have lost your flipping minds voting for this platform from a PROSECUTOR. All those folks on the streets from “reduced jail population” and living the high life of no cash bail and “restorative justice”? Those are the ones breaking into your cars and homes, carjacking people, committing sexual assaults, aggressively panhandling outside what used to be nice areas, and committing robbery with impunity.
