It’s not AP African American History, it’s AP African American Studies, which encompasses other subjects. |

Florida better wake up.
DeSantis is doing a ton of executive orders none of which are good. |
You're going to be really disappointed to learn that the Gay Rights Movement is covered in AP US History. Shhhh, don't tell DeSantis. the former high school history teacher https://library.fiveable.me/apush/unit-8/expansion-of-civil-rights-movement/study-guide/4JIzz1rguSts5wCf7Odr |
| All of this back-and-forthing when the new curriculum will be out tomorrow. Why are you arguing about yesterday's news? Patience. |
Not disappointed at all - I already knew that, but thanks! Did YOU know the Gay Rights Movement encompasses people of ALL races? Not just one race? So, as you point out, AP US History already covers that.

So let me guess - you're not Black. |
Precisely. - DP |
| Question: Did Desantis pick apart all AP curricula? Or did he just examine the AA one? |
What other AP curricula pushes a certain agenda? We'll wait. |
Certain agenda? And what is that? |
Centering the lives of black people. |
a·gen·da /əˈjendə/ noun 1. a list of items to be discussed at a formal meeting. Well, PP’s, I’d guess all of them have their own certain list of things to discuss. |
You really can’t stand to think that Black Americans get some spotlight through a class, can you. Are you jealous? |
My point is that we will not know about other curricula pushing opinion unless we open them up too. Is the Chinese Language and Culture AP making negative statements about communism? Is so, that would be wrong, and it should be pulled. |
| The official curriculum has been released today and it appears to make all of the controversial subjects from unit 4 optional subjects for a research project rather than parts of the curriculum taught and discussed in class. |
