Since we are part-white and foreign, I would never have considered those racist uncultured backwaters ANYWAY.

This just seals the deal.

I am sorry you dislike so much of America. Why are you here?

So you’re okay with the “racist uncultured backwaters” as a definition of America?!!

What an ignorant poster who has so little understanding. Do some learning about the south land!

Boycott us if you must.

You’re clearly NOT choosing life. That’s the issue.

And yes we will boycott.

Great!!! Just do it. We are shaking and quivering. Homes all over the south are going on the market, we are so terrified of your economic power.

Nobody cares.

You will. You will care very deeply.

Nope. And neither will all the northern transplants who are so happy to be living in the south.

DP. Oh, the threats! I'm pro-choice but you just sound like an absolute idiot. The PP is correct. You clearly think you're far more important than you actually are.

I won’t spend a penny in a red state until they demonstrate that they believe women are people.

Fly SW? They are headquarter in Texas.

Use a coupon? Those are processed in Texas.

I could go on and on, but you keep on with your boycott.

Better not use the net, I bet it is routed through one of those “boycotted” states.

Not the same thing, dear, but keep trying.

Here’s a clearer example: taking the kids to a beach in California or South Carolina? Answer: California because of SCs abortion ban. Vacation in Florida? No. Hawaii - yes. Send my kid to school in Texas - no! Washington State - yes.

See? It’s quite simple.

It is when you have money. Some people can’t fill their gas tank or put food on the table, so they don’t even think along the lines you are

I don't fly SW, I don't use paper coupons. I refuse to knowingly do business with any entity having anything to do with those states.

Delta is HQ in Georgia. Off the list it goes

Such a foreign thought to so many of the posters here, but it happens every single year.

No one is doubting that.

That said, as a woman who joined the army for the college scholarship and paid for everything, 100%, I still have enormous respect and admiration for my mother and if she thought going to x state for college would endanger my health or was against her principles, I would have listened to her.

My girls are the same. They would hear out my rationale and respect my opinion.

My spouse and I cancel each other’s vote. My kids do not vote the same either one of us so, we respect each other’s decision including going to school in states that don’t support our decisions.

NP here. I couldn’t be in a marriage like that. “people are their principles”.

I know my kids and they would respect my feeling on their choice of college even if they were paying for it themselves.

You realize you can respect someone’s feelings and opinions even when you disagree with them.

Yes, of course. But if I said “no schools in Texas - please - I don’t think it’s safe for you” she would respect my feelings and go elsewhere. She’s a fiercely independent woman but respects me.
That’s not respect, that’s fear. I’m in a marriage “like that” and let my DD make up her own mind. She came to me third year and said that in retrospect, she felt I was correct that it was not necessary to go to an elite school and spend as much money as we were to get a good education. It’s much more important for me for her to have recognized this herself, as that is the mindset she will bring forward into adulthood and to our grandchildren.

Why do the right wingnuts care so much on this thread that we’re avoiding their few good colleges in their crappy states? Be glad, right wingnuts! Without our kids applying to your few good school, your kids might actually get in.

The real myth here is that there are only a ‘few good schools’ There are great colleges EVERYWHERE across the US, not just the ones that liberals decide are. It depends on the program you are studying and what’s right for you. With Harvard and Berkeley openly discriminating against Asians, I would say they are no longer good schools.

Their kids don’t go to college, they are waiting for the factory jobs to come back. That’s why those colleges have anywhere between 75-90% out of state students.

I would much prefer a Yale grad in Art History then a master plumber to come install new pipes in my home. Because, I mean, YALE!

I always wonder what the attraction is to part-white foreign people, to immigrate to our racist country. I mean, why come at all?

So, we’re not supposed to share information with our children about risks to their health/person? That is our job as parents-keeping them safe

And they are stupid enough to believe the right wing tripe that Biden sets gas prices and food prices, and pay no attention to the profits being reaped by the Saudi's and companies like Exxon.
