But this is what bothers me. Did he say any of this before he was subpoenaed? Like wtf- do you only do the right thing when you have to?

We had leaks throughout the Trump presidency where high-ranking officials said stuff like this, but all the usual folks dismissed it as just a bunch of anonymous leaks. Here you have it on video and under oath.

Why aren't they dedicating more time to the financial grift?

Since no one seems to be moved by ethics and morals on the Trump side, perhaps the electorate who donated hard earned money will only be persuaded by this the financial fraud aspect of this.

I'm not sure they mind being fleeced to finance the lifestyles of these shameless con artists. After all, they continue to send their cash to the NRA to pay for Wayne LaPierre's private jets for his family to vacay in the Caribbean.

It is very hard to admit you've been conned. It's embarrassing.

They are busy analyzing "pronouns" in another thread...

Yep, those are their favorite threads.

They don't seem to care about the spokesperson for their Republican governor of Florida having to register as a agent of a foreign government.

And the Republicans apparently don't care about these hearings to figure out how a grifter almost overturned the democracy of the United States.

I suspect Garland is fitting every I and crossing every T before making a move. He doesn't want his case thrown out of court. Give him time! He knows what he's doing,!

He's had time! Let's see what he's got already!

So you would rather he just show what he's got so far and if it ends up in a mistrial or they get off because all of the legal t's were not crossed or legal i's were not dotted, that's okay with you?

I would rather he lock up the case so that when he finally presents it, it is a slam dunk conviction for all of these criminals.

I loathe Barr but didn't he sit down on the record with a reporter from the AP?

The more this goes on while other much more serious issues are ignored, the more conservative I become.

what is more serious than the losing candidate trying to steal an election he lost? and the other issues (i guess you are referring to the economy and inflation) they are not ignored and the US is facing them like all other major economies in the world (and everybody else, and at least we are not facing starvation)

Barr has been saying that there was no evidence of election fraud since shortly after the election This was published by the AP less than a month after the 2020 elections:
https://apnews.com/article/barr-no-widespread-election-fraud-b1f1488796c9a98c4b1a9061a6c7f49d

Barr has contradicted Trump in public and withstood Trump's ire.

If you read this article in The Atlantic, Barr gave an interview in June 2021. While he didn't come out and say that Trump was "detached from reality" the description of his meetings with Trump show him to be frothing mad. Barr described explicitly someone that was detached from reality. He (Barr) had told the President multiple times that Trump had lost the election and that Trump lost the legal challenges because he hired a "clown car" of attorneys and that no attorney in their right mind would come anywhere near Trump's case. And Trump still talked about Barr betraying him and refused to believe or acknowledge that he lost the election. He kept reaching for more and more outlandish excuses and challenge that were all knocked down like bowling pins in courts across the US. The Atlantic article definitely paints Trump as a lunatic and this was all taken verbatim from the interview with Barr. So he wasn't holding out until he was subpoenaed.

You could have found all this out if you had spent 5 seconds on Google before you posted.

The more that is revealed about the Republicans' plan to overturn the election results, and the more that we learn just how deep the rot goes, the more conservative you become? Seems like you weren't particularly liberal to begin with (nor a particularly deep thinker!).

Sorry, honey. I'm actually conservative and I'm furious. While the elaborate plan wouldn't have worked, a lot of people went along with it, in DC and all over the country. It was a real coup attempt. Failed, and never had any real chance. But they were really trying. And Trump was leading all of it.

"There will come a day when Donald Trumps is gone, but your dishonor will remain."

It seemed like a waste of time.

But now it's clear they are crucial for the historical record.

Trump is a criminal and should be charged with the highest crimes possible. To let him anywhere near the White House again is to bring about the end of this country.

Gas prices don't matter in the big scheme of things. They will eventually drop. But once a tyrant is in charge, the U.S. and all we stood for is done.

This is the way.

It’s as devastating for Barr and the rest of the GOP. They knew full well what a disaster Trump was.
