My relationship to food (and thus to the scale) has become less than ideal! Today I started Weight Watchers, which has helped me in the past. Looking for encouragement and maybe low-point snack ideas. Thanks!

| Get on one of their forums, OP - they are great. Congratulations! Don't be intimidated... baby steps are all that's needed. |

Congratulations! I've been on it 3 days shy of a month and already I've lost 11.8 lbs.
You can do it! Highly recommend doing Simple Start first. Eating all those non-processed foods made me side eye a lot of the processed food that was causing my weight gain. You can do it! For low-point snack ideas, get a air popper for popcorn and snack on popcorn. Grilled cheese sandwiches on english muffins are another good snack option. |
| Good luck! WW was the only thing that worked for me to lose the baby weight. You can do it! |
| I think ww is the best program out there. Go to the meetings, do not stop going to the meetings. The leaders have lost weight on ww themselves, so they walk their talk. Babybel cheese on wasa crackers. You can do this! |

For salty snacks, I love air popped popcorn.
For sweet, I use my yonanas and make different (ice creams) using banana as a base. |
I love the program, but I hate the meetings as all the leaders seem to be processed food junkies like pp. |
| I have done WW in the past. Stick to simple repetitive meals that dont take a lot of time to cook or plan - for example, protein, brown rice, veggie for dinner. Find a breakfast you like - smoothies or oatmeal and eat it everyday. Boring- a little but better for weight loss. And for me, drastically cutting down on sugar has really helped |

It works. Lost 50 lbs in about 6 months. (i'm a guy)
I would say I found personally eating lots of little snacks rather than meals worked best for me. I ate a lot of hummus and veges since low points. Yogurt is low point and high in protein as is cottage cheese. If you actually follow it and weigh the food and such you will lose weight. It takes several months for your stomach to transform - at this point I can't even eat big meals without feeling sick. I used to be able to eat huge amounts of food. |
| You guys have just encouraged me to sign up for Weight Watchers - thanks so much. I've been using MFP but some days I'm good and some days I'm horrible. I'm so glad WW worked for you all. |
OP here. Thanks, everyone! So far, so good, although at the beginning it's a lot of work to figure out how to maximize food-for-points! I find myself in a mindset of wanting to "hoard" my points during the day, which is probably not the way to approach it! Hopefully I'll reach an equilibrium. I can see that I'm already eating more healthily, which is great. 9:14, good luck! Maybe we can check in with each other once in a while!

I lost 40 lbs on weight watchers (online) 10 years ago. Since then I have been able to maintain it (within 5 lbs), until I got pregnant. Had a baby last year, and am 10 lbs over my pre-pregnancy weight, so I am back on it.
I love it, because even when I am not on it, I am aware of my portion sizes. Favorite snacks: fruit (0 pts) carrot sticks and salsa (sounds weird, but surprisingly good, and 0 points) popcorn (3 pts) fiber one brownies/granola bars that 90 calories (2 pts) Good luck! |
