Blake Lively- Jason Baldoni and NYT - False Light claims

For anyone wondering, the case docket sheet shows that the judge clarified last wednesday 2/12 that due to the federal holiday, Lively's amended complaint would be due today, Tuesday 2/18, not Monday.

I hope Justin fights them to the bitter end. These two are evil.

The tide is really starting to turn. This latest SNL stunt seemed to have turned off even people who were staunch Team Blake supporters. Who in the world could have thought this was a good idea? Your wife is in the midst of a major sexual harassment lawsuit and you decide to turn it into a joke with SNL writers? The absolute hubris involved here is mind boggling. They are doing Freedman's work for him.

I'm Team No One but I get why people on both sides feel as they do (I just think there's not enough evidence to take a side). But it's weird to me that people are defending Baldoni like he's Princess Diana. Who even is he? I checked out his website and tried to listen to his podcast and he's just... awful. Like I said, I also don't like Lively and I think the jury's out on which one is telling the truth, but I don't get why so many people are ride or die for this guy. He's incredibly grating.

Do you have a son? A brother? A husband? A father? Any male friends or relatives? Well, unfortunately they could falsely be accused of SH/A. No matter if the victim is ‘grating’ or annoying, Justin is innocent. Blake is the bad guy here.

Because he appears to be the victim. It is irrelevant whether you personally find him grating. Grating is not a crime.

Agree. I’ve said it before that I would likely find Justin terribly self important and insufferable ans many actors seem to be, but he really didn’t deserve all this. Being accused of sexual harassment in 2024 is career ending. And seemingly Ryan and Blake wanted to do it on a whim so she could get control of a crappy movie? It just is beyond cruel and sociopath.

It’s also possible that him being “grating”/socially challenged is what made him easy to target. That would have made it easier for Blake to use her own social capital to get other people to stand with her. If you watch the clips of Nicepool (and believe it depicts Baldoni), you can see that behavior at work. Cool kids picking on the “dork.” It’s pretty twisted, as Nicepool really never even does anything (other than is annoying). Then he gets his head blown off.

It is clear what Blake and Ryan were trying to do. They think they’re superior to Justin and tried to manipulate him. They’ve done this to others just on a smaller scale, as seen by Blake’s disgusting behavior in interviews. They are arrogant, delusional a-holes who deserve to be put in their place.

They did not joke about the SH. They didn't even joke about the court case. They made a quick joke about how things are going poorly for them right now, and it's in the news a lot. "Why, what have you heard?" is a reference to the fact that people are hearing quite a bit about them right now, and a lot of it is negative. That's it.

Also, if Livley was in fact harassed, it is normal and fine for her to go to an event last night. The alleged harassment happened over a year ago. She is a person. You are allowed to have fun and be seen in public even if a bad thing happened to you one time. No one freaked out when Baldoni was spotted on vacation in Hawaii with his family. No one was like "omg how tasteless to go on vacation after being accused of harassment and retaliation." It's just like, yeah, I bet his family could use a vacation.

I don't know if Livley was harassed (I was not there). I don't know if Baldoni is a good guy or not (I don't know him). This case is interesting and I am following it to see what will happen, but I don't get some of this commentary. It's deranged. He made the smallest of jokes about the fact that they are having a tough time right now. Who cares???????

Ask yourself if you would perceive this the same way if it had been Justin at a celebrity award show, cracking jokes with the host about a pending sexual harassment case involving him?

Does anyone think the fat shaming joke by Fred Armisen and Vanessa Bayer during Update Could’ve possibly been a dig at Blake?

One of my favorite parts of the show was during update when Fred and Vanessa did their recurring characters of two friends who are talking behind another friends back. It’s always a hilarious bit and this one did not disappoint. In this case they were talking about Lorne Michaels. But during one part of the bit, they were saying that they asked Lorne if they were going to have dinner and he basically made a joke about how they didn’t need anymore food. And they were like what is that about? Is he calling us fat?

Could be totally coincidental, but just struck me this morning….I’m wondering if it was actually a dig at Blake and the alleged fat shaming.

I have all of the above and none of them behave the way Baldoni does. He has a lot of boundary crossing behavior IMO. I don't know if he SHed anyone, but I don't have men in my life who behave as he does, and if I did, I would talk to them about how their behavior can come across to other people, especially women. Especially if it was my son. Some of the things Baldoni admits to doing, I'd be concerned if my son was doing, especially in the workplace.

If Justin showed up somewhere in public and made a similar joke (about how crazy things are right now, nothing specifically about the SH allegations), I would not care. He's a person. He's allowed to blow off steam about a stressful court case.

I can see a situation in which Reynolds/Lively made light of the situation in an offensive way, but I'm just not seeing it here. Reynolds made light of the bad press and stress of the being embroiled in a public scandal. He didn't make a joke about SH. And Lively didn't make a joke about anything.

I truly don't get the uproar here. It seems way overblown.

My son is too young to have a profession, but it's not relevant. I've worked in creative fields, including as a performer. This attitude of "oh it's ok -- it's a different kind of workplace" is dumb. Just because you're on a movie set doesn't mean it's okay to behave this way. In fact, I think it might make it even more important that you act professionally.

You can never go wrong by respecting boundaries and being self-controlled. No matter where you work or who you work with.

The joke was about her sexual harassment case. Clearly you are making a choice to “not get it.”

Please point out where he has admitted to behavior that you consider unprofessional. Not alllegations in her complaint, but something from his.

Well lucky them that they have impeccable behavior at all times and never come across any vindictive female who has it out for them. JB may be awkward and weird, and may have crossed boundaries, but are you aware of Blake’s behavior towards Justin? Google it. Awkward, weird, boundary crossing behavior doesn’t equal SH.

^^ if anything based on the evidence provided so far, Blake appears to be the aggressor here, again do some research. Just because she is a female doesn’t automatically make her a victim and make her accusations valid.
