We pay around $170 for 2 lines with Verizon. We use a lot of data, not much voice. Some texting.
Has anyone found much cheaper services? What about PureTalk and others? Has anyone tried them? Thanks!! |
| I spend $25 a month for Net10 pay as you go, 1000 minutes. I never use them up (but they don't roll over). I just talk and text -- you can go online but I never do that so can't tell you if it's a good deal for that or not. |
So is there a data plan? |
|
We pay about $80 for two iPhones on Tmobile. Not huge data plans because much of our data usage is over wifi. The do have slightly more expensive plans with higher data limits. Unlimited talk and text is included.
However, we paid full price for the phones to avoid contracts that subsidize the cost of the phone. If you want the lower prices when you upgrade your phone, you'll pay more for monthly service. But if you're out of the contract period on your current phones, you can absolutely switch to better rates. I believe AT&T is now offering similarly priced plans as the Tmobile plan we're on. |
| smarttalk then tmobile |
| There are a lot of companies that utilize either the CDMA or GSM networks. I use one that kept me on Verizon's network but for 1/3 of the price. Was nervous about switching to prepaid but service thus far has been great... And so much less!! |
I only talk and text but I can go online with my phone -- I just never do, so I don't know how fast it eats up the minutes. |

You wouldn't care to mention which one? |
| I just changed to the family plan with AT&T. 150 bucks for two phones, two tablets and 10GB of data. Good deal IMO. |
| Switched from AT&T to Republic Wireless. Each line is $25 per month. Unlimited talk, text, and data. No contract. |
How is the coverage? I am also thinking about Consumer Cellular. |
| I had pay as you go that was $35 per montg, then switched to tracfone and now pay about $ 40 for 3 months |
Please!

| I use Straight Talk. I got a sim card that operates on the AT&T network. Unlimited minutes, text, and 2GB data for $45 ($49 with tax) /month. It's a pain to set up (needed customer service's help to transfer the number and I had to go through a few reps to find one who knew what he was doing), but it's worked great since it was set up. |
