| My 16 year old DD wants to have sexy thongs and bras. I asked her why and she said, " all my friends have cute underwear." Should I let her wear a thong/lacy bras and underwear. She goes to a co-ed school, but does not have a boyfriend. Thanks Ladies. |
| I wore that stuff in high school and wasn't promiscuous or anything. I think it is fine |
| I don't think you should ban them, let her buy them with her own money. Get her on birth control, she doesn't need a boyfriend to be having sex. |
| I wish I had the lingerie drawer my teen DDs have. It's sexy to us but it's the norm for them. Thank PINK etc. |

You thought "sexy", she said "cute". That's your conflict right there.
I too wanted lacy, interesting underwear as a teen, and it had nothing to do with having a boyfriend. After years of cotton panties for little girls, it was highly desirable! |
| How does she know that her friends are wearing sexy thongs? Very odd. |
You must be very naïve. They are girls. They talk about everything. |
No panty lines through their yoga pants -- not hard to notice. |
The Candy's line at Kohls and Victoria Secrets Pink collection would both be age appropriate for her. There's nothing wrong with wanting fun, cute bras and panties at her age
|
| What do all of you wear? I'm kind of surprised by the poster who said she wishes she could wear what her daughter wears. |
Seriously? I can think of several instances where I saw my friends' underwear as a teenager, and I was fairly modest. 1. Locker rooms. 2. sleep overs 3. pool parties 4. getting ready for a group date at a friend's house 5. trying on friend's clothes at her house 6. overnight school trips 7. overnight camps etc. |

All the time? |
Thanks, you pervert. Kids don't need more of that kind of "fun" at this age. |
| Yes at 16 she should have that. All about confidence |
