For health reasons, tell her to stay away from too much polyester near her nether regions. Whatever the marketing says, they're less breathable, and microplastics have been found to adversely affect health (polyester is a plastic). Organic cotton is always better, even though it's harder to find lacey, pretty things in that fabric. But to me and my teens, it's a worthwhile choice. I just bought some organic cotton PACT panties with lace for myself.

I think you are parsing words between sexy and feminine here. But I don’t see a reason to stand in the way of her getting the underwear she wants.

Wait for VS to have an other 10 for $40 sale. We happened on one of these a few weeks ago and my DD got a variety of underwear to try, mostly basic stuff since she has sports most days but there were more lacy options included in the sale.

Yes buy her the stuff but 16 is the time to go on BC if she isn’t already. Most girls aren’t looking for a long term boyfriend so don’t wait for that to wonder if she is having sex. Casual sex is on the rise past Covid. And this is not a shame to teen girls AT ALL. I think it’s empowering. Gone are the days of boys being players and girls pining for a relationship. Both sexes can be up front about what they want and that’s ok.

We go to aerie and if she needs underwear we do the bulk deals. My 16 yo usually chooses little thongs, so I guess you could call them sexy. As long as they are the same price I don’t care.

I don’t get it at all bc I hate thongs but she says she prefers them and they feel the same as regular undies - I have friends who say the same thing, no reason to lie to me, I think to some people the string isn’t an issue lol.

I really don't think wanting thongs means she is having sex. Sure, talk about BC because that's a convo you should be having anyway, but not because of this. I wore thongs before I was having sex because I sometimes wore clothes that would cause me to have VPL if I didn't wear a thong. I also agree with other posters that as a teenager you see other girls' bras/underwear all the time and it's normal to want to be fashionable. Bras with a little padding and lace and thongs are not necessarily sexy.
