Shocked there's no delay

It's really snowing hard here in Bethesda and our road is covered. Why no delay MCPS?

This is crazy!! My Bethesda street is covered and it is slippery!!!

Also surprised by this.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't, MCPS.

I'm surprised too but only bc MCPS has had such a low standard for delays or cancellation. PP you can't really believe that just bc it is a tiny bit slippery out that everyone should stay barricaded in their homes? A little snow isn't a hazard. Put boots on your kids and drive more carefully, very simple.

I am surprised b/c this would have been a closing 1 month ago. I know the MSA's are next week, so I am wondering if that is related, but who knows.

The problem for me is that my middle school kid will likely get in late while I dust off the car and drive slow to school.

Consider leaving a bit earlier?

I don't think this is due to the MSAs, I think it's due to all the crying wolf closings we've had before.

My street in Bethesda is not passable. This is ridiculous!!!!

You people are ridiculous. Don't worry- your precious Paisley will be fine walking in the snow. Maybe she'll slip and learn to walk in snow/ice.

Put on your big girl/boy boots and go about your day.

Where I come from in upstate NY, we call this "a normal day in February."

We're not in upstate NY. We're not in the tropics, either. Or the southern hemisphere.

My DH left for work and called home saying he had spun out in our SUV at the bottom of a hill and advised me to stay in. NO, he's not a bad driver. Actually he's from NEw England and can drive in snow just fine. I think this is nutty.

LOL!

Do you use that excuse at work? WTF?

Get ready earlier and give yourself more time. Not that difficult. Or, have your kid dust off the car for you.

Or don't waste time on DCUM when you could be getting the car cleaned off.

He was going too fast. If he truly knows how to drive in snow (and I'm another New England city driver who just did several hills on untreated streets in an SUV) this is quite manageable if you actually drive as you are supposed to.
