Safeway up for sale I hope to GOD that a good company buys them

Safeway and Giant are terrible grocery stores and the lowest rated according to checkbook and consumer reports.

I hope to GOD that someone like wegmans or whole foods buys them (wishful thinking)

Have to agree that union grocery stores are worse than non-union ones. Customer service is the worst. Have you ever been to the Sangamore Rd. Safeway? Perfect example of this. Long lines, refusal to open up additional cashiers to accommodate customers, surly cashiers, and on and on.

At wegmans each employee has multiple jobs so that if the resisters are empty they stock things. If there aren't enough checkout clerks they go up front. At safeway it's like 2 people checking out w /most lanes closed.

Yes, and this is why I never shop at Safeway. It's almost always a miserable experience.

Don't ever ask an employee where something is or if they have it, they have no clue. I am not sure what the employee do. I actually saw some shopping. I was like WTF.

I think god has more important things to worry about, than whether you have enough large chain grocery stores to choose from.

I tend to cut the employees some slack. Many are working more than one job to make ends meet.
