And you don't let your kids in your car or go swimming?

That’s not the point.

Which is what? That is somehow rational to disproportionately focus on one particular risk over many others that kids are regularly exposed to?

No, they offered DL for all who applied to VA. Parents screamed they didn't want virtual or hybrid so you got what you asked for. You told parents it had to be in person or deal with it. So, those of us who were uncomfortable with our kids being around yours due to behavior choose VA. Now its time for you to deal with it when your kids get quarantined. Oh well.. It is viable long-term. Many kids are doing virtual long term. It may not be viable for your family as you need free child care but that's a different issue.

How many?

Exactly. And how many are regretting it?

There are about 3200 students in virtual. More applications pending.

We don't regret it.

You don't regret it because you like being a martyr even though it is obvious at this point that school reopening hasnt driven infections in the community and that kids are fine.

No just don't like being around the covid crazies who can't keep their masks on or are in all out denial

Sounds like a win-win then. I doubt anyone likes being around you, too.

Agreed. It’s best if people like PP stay home because their newfound inability to function in the “in-person” world would ruin it for everybody else. I feel for their kids, though, who are hostages in these situations.

Unfortunately those kids are already on the Norman Bates track.

Riding in the car or swimming is not a comparison. Be real.

Why would she do it? There are already plenty of school spaces set up in actual schools. You know the buildings that cost many millions of dollars to upkeep, heat, cool and maintain?

PP you're responding to. I'm happy to inform you that my kid is in a school space this year. Because we live more than 2 miles from this school space, my kid takes a school-system-provided transportation device to and from the school space. An easier way to say this is, "My kid takes a school bus to school."

+1. Similarly, I recently learned that the dedicated outside-lunch-brigade at our school convinced the principal to let THEIR kids eat outside every day (everyone else is on a rotation because there isn’t space for all kids every day). My initial reaction was “huh?!” but really, it shuts them up so better for everyone else and now the school can move forward. Some of these parents were constantly sucking all the energy out of the room.

Girl, if you think MoCo is full of covid-crazies, you need a reality check. Did you mean crazy-cautious? This is the land of masks on playgrounds.

That's exactly what she means by Covid-crazies.

The covid-forever crowd that things the disease is lurking behind every bush ready to pounce on their child.

Those are the covid-crazies

The trolls on this board who equate any caution with crazy sure are something. You know a year ago they were spouting the same nonsense about car accidents and the flu being worse from their same Macedonian troll farm cubicles as they're spouting here now?

There’s caution…and then there’s this board. Some posters here are practically afraid to open their house windows. Whatever. We do masks only in school and are about to complete week #5.
