Accurate.

And for those Republicans who resent hearing me say that, take it up with your fellow Republicans, not me.

Jeff says there is a Republican (or maybe more than one?) who posts on here who is reasonable, rational and all around good person to have posting. I wonder if that person still, after the GOP effectively fanned the flames of the pandemic and tried to overthrow the government, still considers themselves and votes Republican or if they call themselves “conservative” and vote differently now.

Because among the Republicans I personally know, their insistence on voting Republican after a lifetime of being good - (normal, not crazy) church attending, Bible verses, of doing the right thing, working hard, giving to charity, of being an honorable person, “sometimes you lose and that’s life” - is akin to repeatedly running into a brick wall and no they do not discuss their politics now.

None of my (non-Trumpy) republican friends are supporting the GOP anymore. I doubt any of them will vote for Dems, but they will not be supporting party candidates.

Are we talking about the same Republican party that is primed, according to all the polls, to sweep the 2022 midterms by a thumping majority?

Cool. Got it. Sure, it's a party in death throes.

that is the most pathetic part of the whole thing

they have repeatedly told you who they are, and people STILL vote for them

why is this so damn hard? One party still believes in democracy. The Republicans don't.

It really is that simple

+1

The GOP has the media in their pocket, so they’re able to snow a good number of people, but they’re basically just a criminal enterprise at this point.

The elections are a year away. It is easy to criticize Biden and Democrats now. Republicans are universally partisan and opposed and a lot of Democrats and independents are disgruntled because they are obsessed with factional disputes. But as the elections near the two parties will nominate real live House and Senate candidates and when it comes down to either/or binary choices the Democrats and left & center independents will vote for sane Democrats over the Republicans insane lunatic candidates who appeal only to the same lunatic base voters.

It's not enough to expect people to make sane decisions. The Republicans are incredibly good at messaging, even though their mission is insane. As a result, they successfully and continually manage to bamboozle millions and millions of voters. The Democrats *REALLY* need to up their messaging game, and *REALLY* need to find ways to call out, counter and shut down the right wing's lies and propaganda. I honestly don't get why they aren't coordinating, why they don't have compelling talking heads blanketing every conservative media outlet asking to appear to counter and debate the RW talking points. They place way too much faith in the assumption that people will know better and reject the Republican talking points for the lies and lunacy that they are. They really have to stop taking that for granted and crank up the dial on messaging.

Why would RW media schedule people who will destroy their lies on air?

"Even for Breitbart?" This is just run-of-the-mill lies and deception for Breitbart. They do crap like this every day.
