Agree. I am not a fan of any politicians, but the current GOP are the worst of all time...the most brazenly and transparently disgusting, cowardly, unethical hypocrites. I'm at my limit listening to their BS rationalizations as to why it's ok for Trump to do anything he wants, including treason.

And Kevin McCarthy claims we all have some responsibility for the autogolpe on the 6th. STFU, McCarthy. Just because you’re a traitor to your country and your oath does not mean that I am a traitor to my country. Call “Representative” McCarthy and tell him how you feel about it. OP

Republicans are not well.

But AOC! Socialist....

Disgusting! As a resident of the NOT-state of Washington, DC, HE and all of his ilk are what caused January 6, certainly not those of us who got to be locked down in our own city and sure as heck don't have a vote in Congress.

Nope. He's been credibly accused of sexual assault by over 20 women. Even Roy Moore won the GOP nomination after accusation of sexually abusing teen girls.

Everything is forgivable for these hypocrites.

Wrong!! He won the nomination BEFORE the accusations were lodged. Accusations came out shortly after he won. Funny how that happened. (He was a terrible candidate to start with--even without the accusations., but they came out afterwards. Just think, he had held public offices for many years and yet, these accusations did not come out until the Senate race against a Dem.)

He would not have won the nomination had it come out earlier.

Get your facts straight.

There was an accusation of rape of a minor. His friend at the National Enquirer bought and buried other accusations. AND WE ALL HEARD THE "GRAB THEM BY THE PUSSY" TAPE BEFORE THE ELECTION, WHICH HE ACKNOWLEDGED WAS HIM IN A PUBLIC STATEMENT. For God's sake, stop defending the indefensible. What is wrong with you?

As I said: the GOP is broken beyond repair. OP.

I’d forgotten that bit about the National Enquirer. I feel like part of the frenetic feeling of the last few years was the fact that the “mainstream” (corporate/conservative) media consistently let stories toxic to the GOP die without any real investigation. How much did the Enquirer catch and kill? Did they get the kompromat that brought Lindsey Graham in line?

We had a minute of actual unified opposition to the worst elements of our society, and then republicans went right back to stoking the fire while at the same time denying any responsibility. Nauseating.

They are not broke they are just freed from faking it. This is who they are and they are attracting more of their kind. The party is purifying itself. Though many of the low tax anti regulation type will happily embrace them and their values.

How do you think they got to where they are? They will not change because they believe what they say.

A few appear to be changing slowly?

Anyone still calling themselves a Republican, even if they’re switching their identity back to “Republican first” from “Trump first,” is a sad, broken person. They have liars (Madison Cawthorn, Cotton), crazy people (Gohmert, Marjorie whatever her name is), zealots (Cotton, Hawley, ACB and Kavanaugh), and traitors (Hawley, Cruz, Paul, McCarthy, Tuberville, all those chumps who went to Russia for the 4th of July...) and they’re all the fck in.

They are not "for" anything except their own power. All they can talk about is how to oppose Biden and his admin. These are not people who should be in the halls of Congress.

Congresspeople are supposed to work for the good of the nation, not the good of their party. When was the last time you heard anyone from the GOP talk about working "with" the current administration if the administration was under a Democratic president?

They should be discussing how they will work with the Democrats to solve problems, but they have no interest in that. They are just gearing up to oppose, oppose, oppose.

Think about it. Their motivation is to make Democrats look bad. How will that strategy ever allow forward progress?

Cheer up, OP. More than 30,000 Republicans have changed their voter registration since January 6. The coup did not play well with normal people. https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/536113-tens-of-thousands-of-voters-drop-republican-affiliation-after-capitol

I agree with this. The GOP is now full of radicals and their main goal is to oppose and cripple the democrats rather than to find compromise and work for the country. They call the democrats the "radical left", yet all the radicals seem to be on the right. the GOP has long stopped being fiscally conservative. The GOP caters to gun toting, white supremasists and support legislation that limits the rights of certain groups of people, while the democrats support legislation that aims to protect the rights of certain people.

I used to be a republican but now my values more closely reflect the views of centrist democrats. The GOP has to really change for me to ever vote for a republican again.

There they go, saying the quiet part out loud. Still some refuse to believe that the GOP is anti-democracy, but they can’t be any clearer.
