15% refund when everyone else is offering more. You have to pay those bloated director salaries after all.

i'm confused, were these team meetings or age group meetings last night? i saw their instagram post on friday trying to get more players; had been considering but i'd like to know what's going on first; moved into the area and looking at Alexandria and Arlington as well (just worried because i heard traffic is bad here but everybody is still social distancing)

It was for current players. LMVSC like all others clubs has things that it can improve on. Those two clubs are currently stronger but nothing wrong with the LMVSC, they are rebuilding but there is some potential within some current teams. If just entering travel nothing wrong with it.

That's not how it works but whatever. Not all clubs have the same resources or expenses.

I always thought they could have done better in the past with opportunities for non top team players. In the past most focus has been on top team. Directors only showed up to red team games, at least that changed last year where they came to multiple games. They seem to be trying to address the player opportunities this year as part of their communication so let’s see how it works.

The PAT training for their 3rd practice of the week could be improved. This is where they bring multiple age groups together and kids train with different coaches. I would prefer a 3rd team practice.

I was shocked when LMVSC told parents that the PAT training was well received. I thought it was complete chaos. The timing/overlap, the ration of kids to coaches, and the quality of the drills to challenge each level of player. That is the one practice my kid didnt want to attend more so because he couldnt hear the instruction and when they asked they were scolded for not paying attention.

yup. I will counterbalance it with aside from PAT the training was solid. I am one of the ones defecting due to the new training model/approach and would have stayed if they had a better plan in place.

I thought coaches were always positive and professional at all times. As for the new training from last night it isn’t going to be much different besides more collaboration between coaches which I think is better for the kids.

this isn't very clear for me

is the training positive and collaborative, or is it not? it sounds like the pat training was okay, but now it's everybody all the time? i don't understand. how many teams are there?
Anonymous
I think the new training will be A. Not that different from before and B. Better because it is forcing collaboration and coordination within the age group

I think you will mostly just be with your team and coach, but you’ll at least be in the same place so that you can scrimmage, do drills together, etc.

I thought last nights meeting was a lot better than the original town hall.

I get that people are all wrapped up in $$ details and that’s completely understandable in this environment. But the bottom line is our refund is the same as Alexandria’s and we don’t even come close to having the huge cash reserves they have. Everyone is doing their best. You can argue that that’s not good enough and there are areas where you’re completely right, but i think everyone has good intentions.

We are staying. For now.

Respectfully disagree. You stated that the training will not be different. Last year the training started to decline from prior years. They started trying this academy model due to white/blue parents having concerns, and I get it, it makes sense. However the red team parents were not offered opportunities to training with older kids and/or more skilled players. In fact, red team players were being grouped with blue team players. I think there needs to be a balance to satisfy players with various skill levels. In regards to item B how is this model forcing collaborating/coordination. That should be inherent to the training of all age groups…why have age specific DOCs if this wasn’t happening. Nothing will change here. In regards to last nights meeting Lee made it clear that the training will be the SAME for all players. Red team might just do the drills faster. To me you tailor the training to the player skills/ability and not a general training for all age groups.
Totally cool if folks want to stay. I know everyone’s mileage will vary. Just offering a different perspective.

We out.
