I hit a goose and now my neighborhood is at war

Now if a dog runs out in front of you and you are not at fault thats one thing. But to see a goose crossing and decide you are more importand and just run it over, thats just cruel and you can be charged.

There was an incident in Laurel recently where someone ran over seagulls intentionally, The Police are looking for the suspect.

i am not an animal lover, but i do agree with these PPs. You are an entitled ass.

I am not one to dodge a rodent, I have run over plenty in the city during my time....but a goose mates for life. I would have waited the 5 minutes to let them pass. I remember watching a goose wail for days next to the body of its dead mate, it broke my heart. I won't hit a goose unless I have no choice.

Her neighbors fear she will hit and kill one of them, their children or beloved pets next. Wait a damn minute, next time.

If an animal is wounded in a traffic accident, the driver should take responsibility. He should euthanize the animal as quickly, efficiently, and safely as possible.

And: don't make animal control come out while the animal is suffering; just man-up and do the right thing.

Lawyer peeps, help us out. Is this legal fact, or just fevered internet ramblings?

It's not animal cruelty. It's called "an accident" in legal terms.

As to the poster asking about how to euthanize it, just whip out your Glock and put a cap in the thing. That will get the HOA fired up for another week.

No, OP deliberately ran it over because she couldn’t wait 5 mins for it to cross the road. No accident here.

The bigger question is why anybody is giving you a platform to be an ugly idiot.

Please, folks, don’t encourage the animal abuser who thinks it’s all hilarious.

Stop even criticizing OP. It just gives her, or whoever this abusive idiot is, a platform to keep posting.

You're kidding, right? You mean to tell us you've never rung a goose/duck's neck, or at least witnessed it?? Never even been to the eastern shore of MD??

Sheesh - suburban people - you don't even realize how small the little bubble you live in really is. YouTube to your rescue (don't panic - the bird in the video is already dead): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_iS_dUiKCk

I've done this probably more than a thousand times in MD; it doesn't harm the crippled bird and is the humane thing to do.

Good idea. Just get out and kill it with your bare hands. Should be a good warning to the other geese.

Do they ever carry the bird flu?

So your "better idea" is to: let it suffer.

You do realize that makes you a really cruel person with no regard for animal suffering, right? Sorry, not sorry. Facts are hard sometimes.

I am sorry but I'm in tears laughing. This thread is like an SNL skit. Seriously, I would have probably called animal control.
