No, it's not. What it is doing is demonstrating how this shooting is Dump's fault. His horrific and cruel immigration policy left Afghan patriots who risked their lives to support use abandoned and vulnerable to the Taliban. His ridiculous, wasteful authoritarian theater tha is spending $200 million+ to have Guard members away from their families and careers to stand around at Metro stations performing authoritarian theater left these Guard members as sitting ducks.

Never forget---this shooting is Donald Trump's fault.

The shooting is the fault of the shooter. That’s how it works.

Does this mean that we can FINALLY stop hearing the whining about liberals inciting violence and sedition by simply pointing out reality and truth? About the poor ICE agents getting their feelings hurt while they kidnap and harass people?

Thank god.

However, this is still 100% trumps fault. These soldiers families should call him out. Other veterans already are.

ICE Agents kidnapped 3 million people when Obama was president? Were you in the streets protesting then? Thought so.

And the response of people to the shooting of two NG members by an Afghan terrorist is :checks notes: that there should be less NG members and federal forces in DC? Really? DC is the capital of the country and is FAR more dangerous than any European or Asian capital city, many of which have soldiers patrolling. And your recommendation is that we should have less federal security after a terrorist attack? Really?!!!

ICE agents most certainly did not "kidnap" three million people under Obama, and more, they didn't kidnap anyone who was going through the process legally, unlike the current regime.

Clearly they are high priority, securing multiple seats on evacuation planes. Applies for asylum, gets resettled in a far-ass corner of Washington. Gets asylum approved by Trump in April 2025. Then in September 2025, Trump administration cancels asylum for Afghans who helped the U.S., so he and family (with 5 kids) are looking at being handed over to the Taliban.

In the eyes of a desperate man, Traveling to DC and shooting two soldiers is a good way to keep your family in the country.

How does that logic work?!!! Him shooting NG is not a + re: family staying in US.

While true, the shooter was inspired by Trump and his policies.

Yes although he likely has handlers, all seems fairly orchestrated.

Shooter Rahmanullah Lakanwal—CIA-backed Kandahar Strike Force vet (per leaked ID and Ratcliffe in a Fox News Interview confirmed Lakanwal’s “ties to the CIA as part of a partner force in Kandahar” based on declassified/intel briefings)—ambushed 2 unarmed Guardsmen at 2:15pm EST yesterday, yelling “Allahu Akbar”. Critical but alive. But Google Trends? His name spiked in DC at 2:24AM (84 interest), 3:28AM (100), 8AM (22)—HOURS BEFORE shots fired. Foreknowledge? We need to subpoena the IPs!

It makes sense when you understand that he spent his life as a US operative and once settled in the USA, Trump pulled legal status for him and his family, thuse forcing them back to Afghanistan where they are sure to face death at the hands of the Taliban.

The NG is not improving the crime situation in DC. NG are not trained for crime disruption or intervention. This why they are mostly standing around, doing yard work, and occasionally helping elderly people cross streets (which is nice! The NG I've encountered are very nice, but they are not cops).

This was a targeted attack -- this guy traveled to DC to shoot military officers, who he knew from TV were standing around in DC.

In what way will bringing more NG into DC help this situation?

Btw, it you actually knew anything about what has been going on in DC, you'd know the mayor attributes the drop in crime, in part, to the involvement of federal officers in raids and arrests. These are not NG, but FBI, ATF, and ICE. The NG has played no role in law enforcement.

No, he was not granted asylum, you are spreading misinformation.

It is reported on multiple reputable news sites. Where are you seeing that he overstayed?

@BillMelugin_
BREAKING: Per multiple federal law enforcement sources, the suspect in custody for the shooting of two National Guard soldiers in DC is an Afghan national who entered the U.S. on 9/8/2021 as part of the Biden admin’s Operation Allies Welcome in the aftermath of the US withdrawal from Afghanistan.

I’m told his permission to be in the U.S. expired in September of this year, and he is now in the country illegally.

"I'm told". That seems like even Bill Melugin, whoever he is, isn't sure.

CNN says he was granted asylum. So does ABC.

It's possible both things are true. Asylum isn’t typically granted forever.

In this case, the shooter and his family served USA interests for years in Afghanistan with a promise of legal status in the US. Trump reneged on that, putting the shooter and his family at risk. How else does the US conduct a ground war with allies on the ground? And, how do Trump's action impact any future US actions in another country?

This doesn't apply to the shooter though, so why are you posting it here? The shooter was apparently a known CIA operative who was promised legal status in the US for him and his family. Trump went back on that promise, and hence the shooting.

This guy was just vetted again and approved for asylum by the Trump administration earlier this year. Think about that - in a period of time where Trump was canceling asylum and rounding up immigrants/migrants, this guy gets a seal of approval from Stephen Miller and company!

But keep f#cking that chicken.

This guy won’t have a day in court with all he knows about US operations in Afghanistan as *checks notes* a child soldier. Dark stuff.

100% this.

Maybe at some point, MAGA will understand that asylum and immigration are real things, for real people with real impact on American foriegn policy.

or, nah.

It would not surprise me at all if this guy was abused as part of bacha bazi with Northern Alliance warlords who were aligned with the U.S. He’s the right age. What other reason would the CIA or .mil need a 14 year-old? It’s nuts to even contemplate.

And the CIA probably fast tracked him. So many people helped the US during the war were left behind.
