Metropolitan DC Local Politics
Because he is desperate and probably mentally ill? Like the white shooters? |
I love you! 😁 |

So…doesn’t it make DC less safe to have more NG troops come to DC so that there are more targets for people to go after (and maybe an unfortunate DC resident or tourist in the cross fire)?
It’s not like they were shot trying to stop a carjacking…this was a nut job who drove 2000 miles. |
Had he just let the Assistant Chief or the mayor speak first, he would have avoided embarrassment. He's a mix of premature and immature. |
This should be obvious to people, but the Trump administration and their various propaganda outlets have turned the truth to mush. This was not "DC crime." It was a horrible act of terrorism that wouldn't even have been possible had Trump not engaged in this stupid vanity project with the National Guard. Jeanine Pirro said this morning that the two guardsman who were shot had just been sworn in. They are 20 and 24 years old. Completely senseless. |

A lot of people were not directly hired by the US government. The vast majority were hired by contractors who did not give a sh#t about any of these people. Also republicans are deporting Afghanistans back. Maybe his friends who were deported back to Afghanistan by Trump and republicans were killed. |
It’s not terrorism. Who exactly is being terrorized? Look up the definition of terrorism and get back to us. |
| The reason why you supposedly need to increase national guard presence would be to handle increased civil unrest. The streets are calm, no one is out there rioting so there is zero reason to bring more guard in. They should be home with their families. It’s political theater, on the blood of two American soldiers. And all vetting can do is look to see if the person was a threat in the past. It can’t tell you who is going to snap. This guy should get everything that is coming to him, but this disgusting need to score political points based on “which president’s fault it is” is revolting. |
I wouldn't call him a nut job. He was betrayed by the US government and desperate to save his family. |
If Trump hadn't had the national guard in DC, this wouldn't have happened. If Trump hadn't betrayed his family, this wouldn't have happened. But somehow, this is Biden's fault and a liberal city will be paying the price with even more National Guard troops that don't need to be here. |
No one worth listening to is arguing which president is at fault. There is only one that put the troops there despite the lack of need for it and the hostility it created and the judges ruling that it’s illegal and then used his secret police to harass Americans at every turn and amp up the violence for all of America. Just say it, it’s trumps fault. I thought that everyone was so proud that they voted for this…? |
Ironically, given what he knows of CIA and US military operations, he will either be relocated with his family to some relatively friendly country, or else they will just kill him and deport his family to Afghanistan, where they will all be killed. |
We can play this game all day long. If Dems would have gotten crime under control, national guard wouldnt have been deployed to DC in the first place. If Dems hadn't imported hundreds of thousands of Afghans, this guy would have never been here in the first place. Ultimately however, shooter is the one responsible for his own actions. |
Crime has been going down in DC since the pandemic. It was already under control. To your second point, Trump closed the special visa office in the state department....the one that would have processed applications from people like the shooter. When Biden took office, he opened it as a priority, knowing the taliban timeline. In 2021 almost every Republican attacked the Biden administration and State dept for being too slow in approving Afghanistan special visas as Afghanistan fell even though Trump is the one who closed the office and brought application processing to a halt. Now you all are attacking Biden for doing what you asked him to do...expedite applications. |
