Maybe to BCC, but Whitman would be a stretch. But, ever considered the wealthy parents don't want their kids in those schools and encouraging that just reduces diversity and increases farms. How about meeting all kids' needs at their home schools, not just a select few? |
Because there is a bus and more stops. |
Heaven forbid your kids go to school with other wealthy children like themselves and they’re not the wealthiest ones anymore. |
Most families don't care about IB. They aren't taking away anything from the home schools in reality. This is all for show. I couldn't care less if they took away IB. They are just saying these schools specialize in it for attention. They aren't adding anything to these programs. And, the VAC drama, there are only a few teachers for arts and a few for music. Other schools have way more. This is just for name only. They aren't adding staff or funding to make these better programs. Really, its all for show so nothing to get worked up about. The real issue is the kids who cannot cosa or go to other schools who need more advanced academics. Right now the only choice is to drive to another school or MC. Will it still be allowed ot drive your kids to another school for a class if they are out of region? |
My kids are not wealthy. They don't have any money. Be real. My kids aren't running to Starbucks and $20 lunches every day, for example. Nor would we allow it. Our values are to fully pay for college and grad school. Many of the more comfortable families at the schools you wouldn't send your kids to aren't living lavish lives and wouldn't fit in. You don't have a clue how much many of the families have or don't have. It's the culture and attitudes I don't like. It's also harder to get into college from one of those schools. |
Recall that east county people were fine having option 3 in the first round bc some Einstein kids chose to have 70 min bus rides. |
Actually would be fewer stops. School to school. |
Um what? No. |
With the Purple Line, east county kids could easily commute to B-CC. The Purple Line doesn't quite go to Blair or Northwood however. |
| CES kids regularly do 45 min bus rides. But by choice. |
Or most of Einstein |
Oh yes. And the maximum time between Blair and BCC is 20 min by bus. |
Imagine coming in here and saying you don’t want your kids to go to Northwood or Einstein bc of the “culture” and “attitudes.” |
Nope. I don't know anyone who wanted Option 3. Our PTA advocated against it. |
DP The people who say those things about Northwood and Einstein haven't set foot in those schools. Many DCC parents attended Whitman, BCC and Walter Johnson. We know what we're talking about and so do you. |
